Jan 1, 2008 On tap Brick Store/Decatur. A hazed golden orange pour with a creamy white head. Nose is complex in that I’m not sure if it corriander of ginger is the main spice that I pick up. Huge fruity (almost bannana) flavor followed by a bitterness that leans to the tart side. Strong hint of abv but not overpowering. Carbonation and mouthfeel are very solid. Nothing at all bad about this beer. As it warms the corriander really comes to the front.

Bar none the best Farmhouse I’ve had. Excellent with Spinning Spider (Madison County, NC) goat cheese -- chevre and goat gouda. I can’t say enough about the fine balance and quaffability of this one.

Dec 30, 2007 Bottle shared by theisti at his Holiday Tasting 12/28/07. Pours a hazy orange-straw with a thin, white cap. Wheat and a beautiful bouquet of soft, fruity yeast and citrus are on the nose. Very nice. Light to medium-bodied, with soft carbonation and a lightly dry and mildly sour finish. With a light wheat body, the flavor follows the nose with sweet, fruity yeast and citrus notes. This is one of my favorite saisons to date. It’s not particularly complex, but it is very, very nice and well deserving of its status among the highest rated saisons on this site. Thanks again for sharing this one with us, Tim!

Dec 30, 2007 750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy creamsicle color with a firm white head. Aroma is rich and strong, with strong hints of yeast and hops along with the earthiness of autumnal spices. Taste is creamy and full, with a mild hoppy flavor giving way to a long, crisp finish of malt, spice, and a slight boozy bite. I wouldn’t have thought of a saison for a winter/holiday brew, but this does a fine job of making me think otherwise -- les bons veoux!

Dec 30, 2007 Very very nice. Sampled in the 22oz bottle. Poured very cloudy with a thick head. Taste was very smooth with a nice texture. Slight acidic flavor added to the thick malty undertones.

Dec 30, 2007 Sampled at theisti’s Holiday tasting. Poured a hazy gold. Plenty of carbonation and an off white head. Nice clove/coriander yeast aromas with some malts. Great mouthfeel. A little sugary sweetness. Dry, slightly spicy finish with a little alcohol coming through. I didn’t write much down when I was drinking it, but I really enjoyed it!

Dec 29, 2007 Updated: Jan 3, 2009750 ml bottle from PhillyBeer2112 enjoyed at my Holiday Mini Tasting. Pour is hazy gold yellow with a 1/2 inch off white head. Aroma of very full yeastiness, hay and developed earthiness. Floral, honey, and melon notes as well. Really layered and fulling engaging nose. Taste of hay, beautiful layers of earthiness and a mild sweet caramel booziness to the finish. Loved this beer, though the booziness to the finish left it a bit short of perfect. Thanks for this one Dan.

Dec 29, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. Poured a murky light golden orange with a spare off-white head. Aroma of grass and straw from the yeast. Taste of a bittering hop with some lemon sweet citrus and slight tart. Medium bodied. Not bad, but not worth the hype.
