mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA May 8, 2007 Courtesy SoLan. Pours a hazy, yeasty, gold with a thick, frothy, well retained white head. Really nice looking. Lovely aromas, some nutmeg, cinnamon spices, coriander, a little clove, some funky citrus as well. Taste is quite spicy, kind of explodes around the sides of the mouth. Just a touch of some pepper, not much sourness. More nutmeg and cinnamon than anything. A touch of some orange citrus rounds out the flavors. Really refreshing for how spicy it is. Pretty creamy in the finish, the aftertaste is slightly bitter and funky. Fantastic. Légère présence d’épices en arrière goût. (Rating #1023) Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina May 6, 2007 Bottle, April 07. Enormous, striking, saazy hop aroma and horse saddle. Very perfumy and refreshing. Hazy golden-yellow color, very shinny with a medium, creamy, white head. Yasty, phenollic, fruity oranges flavor with comfortable earthy hop notes. Not even the slightest alcohol burn. MF is light to medium, packed with flavor and a sudden, refreshing dry end with an earthy hops aftertaste. Amazing drinkability. Exceptional, flavorfull Saison. holdenn (1432), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 30, 2007 750 ml bottle pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Strong sour aromas, funky yeast, citrus, and fruit. The flavor is like the aroma tart and very dry. Paired nicely with thai food at Thai Pastry. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Apr 29, 2007 Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy yellow/golden color, big white lasting head. Aroma is fruity, sour, yeasty, malty and sourish with some citric notes. Malty and yeasty flavor with some spices and quite sour. Me like... dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2007 Bottle at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Hazy yellow-orange with a strong white one finger cap. Aroma was a bit indistinct for me; the bottle was served a bit cold. Tartness and spice, with a hint of citrus in the background. Taste is sweet upfront with significant and pleasurable spice, a touch of warming alcohol - who would’ve guessed in a 10% saison, hah. This is tripel-like in many ways. Lemon comes through as a tart citrus component throughout the middle. Slightly bitter finish. Fine and refined carbonation, smooth, really rolls along the tongue - love that. Very solid. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA Apr 21, 2007 750 ml bottle that is 1 year old. Pour is a hazy gold with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy and tart with sweet malt, citrus, lemon, pepper, and fruit. Flavors of yeast, citrusy fruit, lemon tart, funk, and alcohol. I have actually enjoyed other saisons more. This one is just to alcoholic. I like this style to be light and refreshing unlike this one. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 19, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Hazy, golden with a dense, white head. Extreme aroma of yeast and diacetyl. Fairly full-bodied with sweetish malt, a distinct yeastiness, diacetyl and fruit. Way too much diacetyl. The finish is strongly alcoholic. This was just way too Belgian - in the not so hot sense. 030407
