awaisanen (1132), Irvine, California, USA Mar 29, 2006 Updated: Nov 3, 2006 From bottle, poured at the 2006 Pizza Port 12 Hour Belgian Beer Party. Pale, slightly cloudy yellow colored pour with a really tall, frothy white head. Slightly yeasty aroma is saturated with granny smith apple skins and rose petals; a delicate perfume that proves less can be more. Slightly bitter, herbal flavors of celery root, parsley stalk, and an abundance of springtime clover. Some soft orange blossoms and a bit of shaved nutmeg and peppery spice. Finish is clean, quick, and crisp, with an abundance of lemongrass and a hint of lime peel.

Hazy, light orange grey body with a foamy medium-lasting off-white head. Sweet and yeasty spice flavour has a sour finish. Medium body. Lovely composition.
(Post-Mondial Tasting) kegbear (71), Orange, California, USA Aug 9, 2008 This beers reminds me of a summer day. Aroma of grass, dry hay, barn, spice. Tastes of hay, pepper, lemon and vanilla. A really great saison. mullet (763), Melbourne, Australia Aug 6, 2008 I want to have this beer’s babies. I’m currently basking in the glory of $14 bottles of this stuff and life is pretty bloody good. Despite its size there’s nothing too obvious about it, but there’s lemony hops, peppery yeast, vanilla ice cream malt and some gin-like alcohol warmth, though it really is ridiculously easy to drink for its size - I’d say it appears noticeably less boozy than the Moinettes. Very hoppy in an extremely low key way, if that’s possible. Everything it beautifully rounded, everything is in place, and it tastes as good as I recall it from Belgium. Love it. Even better than Saison Dupont. Snojerk321 (943), San Diego, California, USA Jul 31, 2008 750ml bottle from BevMo Carmel Mountain. Pour is a hazy gold with a nice white head. Aroma is spicy and tart with sweet malt, citrus, lemon, pepper, and fruit. Flavors of yeast, citrusy fruit, lemon tart, funk, and alcohol.
