750 ml corked and caged bottle decants a radiant golden body with an immense vanilla head. Head slowly falls into a beautiful meringue with sticky lacing sheeting the goblet. Quite the looker! Aroma of freshly sliced lemons and floral/herbal hops. Medium body with velvety carbonation. Taste is pleasantly complex. Dry and herbal, with notes of citrusy lemon, melon, white pepper, and herbal hops. Not the best saison I’ve tried but certainly very well done.

Gorgeous. Pours golden with a medium sized white head that has some staying power. Carbonation is perhaps the most visually interesting I’ve ever seen. It dances, moving slowly and elegantly. One of the finest looking beers I can recall. Aroma is yeasty, with a lot of fruity character. It smells great. The flavor, well it comes off as being very clean to me. This is not at all bad. I’ve had many Belgians that just seemed sloppy in their flavor, and just did not feel polished. This seems to be very well designed in it’s structure, and I really enjoyed it. The ABV does not show itself, and I think I could drink this stuff quite often.

Bottle. Spicy nose with light fruit notes and orange peel. Earthy spices like thyme and pepper contrast strawberry and cherry aromas. Cloudy pale gold with a big fluffy head that laces nicely. Big alcohol presence, sharp with some astringency and a peppery bite. Buttery notes underneath. A bit muddled and harsh.

2007 vintage, cloudy honey gold hue, with a thick white head, leaving laces, yeasty, fruity, floral bouquet nose of lavender, rose petal with some spicy, lemon, grapefruit, peach, tangerine hop fruitiness, with some honeyed ppale malt in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, honeyed pale malt, fruity, herbal flower character of lavender, with a faint fruitiness of ripe apples, with a good flowery hop citrusy, of lemon skin, leading towards a warmth, fruity, leafy hop dryness finish.

750 ml bottle - 2007 vintage; thanks to beerlando for the trade; pours hazy, light orange with frothy white head; aromas of sour apples, bitter cloves, lemons; very wine-like; drink very, very dry with flavors of lemons, grapes and spice; lots of funk and more spicy than the other 3 during my night of saisons; like the level of funk; very nice

aroma of lemon and other sunny fruits. yeast comes next, also providing defined clouded yellow body. belgian spice mixes with up front booze profile creating an almost sweet pastry like flavor. this is a bold, ’big beer’ - which is in itself bold departure for a saison, which this certainly is despite some amount of trail blazing in its flavor profile. wonderful head borders on the whipped cream sometimes seen in non-saison belgian ales. while the alcohol makes this slightly less palatable then some others of the famed dupont family, its contribution to complexities cannot be denied. the use of spice and its ABV indeed make this a great holiday brew.
