COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biere de Miel is bottle conditioned and contains only water, barley and wheat, honey, hops and yeast. It has a marvelously delicate scent of honey, balnaced by a dry palate, resulting in a beer that is both estery and refreshing.

Disclaimer: Both the normal and the organic (biologique) version.

First I felt it was too strong but letting this beer breathe a moment it started to smell divine. Honey aroma, strongly malty. Delicious!

This was fabulous, so much better than most meads I’ve tried. (I realize this isn’t a mead, but a beer flavoured with honey). Yellow body with gorgeous pillowy white head and lost of lacing. Basically this has the aroma, taste and texture of a really good tripel but with a subtle element of honey. I’m glad this wasn’t very sweet. The honey is subdued, which is excellent. Great beer.

Hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is wheat and honey with some floral notes. Flavor is honey, wheat, grass and spices, but unfortunately I am getting some light skunked notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Another skunked beer from Dupont. Huge shock.

Oh bah tient une biere de miel qui sent le miel. C’est c’est pas banal C’est pas sucré comme on pourrait le craindre, un tout tout tout petit peu amer meme.

Bottle at home, this rating is more for my own list I have had this beer earlier this year before i started taking notes. What I remember: one of the best honey beers i have had, honey taste was not overwhelming.

It pours hay coloured and almost opaque and very cloudy; the head is off-white and foamy. The aroma has notes of: honey, wheat, sweet floral notes, orange oil, and white-pepper. The taste is light sweet that finishes light bitter; there are notes of: honey, oats, and orange-zest. The palate is medium-light bodied, light soft carbonation, and a light finish. Overall, it’s a neat idea - not so good on the execution.

750 ml bottle served in a St. Bernardus snifter. Pours a hazy honey-orange color with a moderate size head that settles too quickly and leaves no lasting lacing. Aroma: Very appealing mix of light fruits, honey and hops. Some alcohol after warming. Taste: as expected after the nose, the flavor is also quite fruity, with hints of apple juice, pears, grapes and raisins. Sweet, with a clear presence of natural honey. Somehow not too sweet, with a significant hop component that partly counters the sweetness and add some spiciness. Somehow not too sweet, with a very natural honey flavor. Nicely spicey and peppery too Fine lingering aftertaste of spiced biscuit with honey. Feel: Medium-high carbonation; crisp; medium body. O: Exceptional. Well-crafted with excellent balance (level) and mix (aromas and flavors) of honey, yeast, malt and hops. The most honey flavor I have had in a beer, and certainly one of the best honey beers (thinking of Hopslam too).

Pours a hazy golden colour with a small off white head the disappears quickly. Lots of bubbles and tight carbonation. Aromas of yeast, black pepper, tar and honey. Tastes about the same. Complex. Nice sweetness with a long finish.

25 cl bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma: Very dusty, somewhat floral, quite sweet, certainly smells like honey, lighter earthy/lemony coriander, wet bread dough, smells...thick. Palate: Medium+ body, full, pillowy effervescence. Flav.: Very similar to the nose...plenty of sweet honey, a bit dusty, fairly floral, esters come out too, yeast, coriander, not bad; lightly sweet with minimal bitterness and a fairly lemony/yeasty finish.

Lacks the sting of agricultural chemicals...otherwise, fine.
