330ml bottle – decants a clouded simmering gold ale with a small white cap. Aroma of dry biscuit, honey, spice, fruit blossoms…very pleasant. Dry spicey character with yeasty earthiness, estery fruitiness and honey forming amazing flavor compounds …spritzy effervescence from bottle conditioning aids in sharpening the dry finish. A fantastic honey ale.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Novare Res. Slightly spicy with a bit of grain in the background. Flavor has floral hops & a dry spice character. Almost a bit minty. Lightly creamy.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheJester (1460) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - APR 8, 2013
250 mL bottle. Fantastic earthy aroma has herbs, medicine, unsweetened honey (if that makes sense), dried fruit (again, not sweet), and overripe fruit. Taste is like the aroma, if you add in some grain. A bit of honey at the end. Somehow fresh and barnyard at the same time. Maybe a little thinner than I expected. Not something I could drink a lot of, but definitely something I will drink again.

Pale golden yellow pour with a thick white head. Fairly hazy appearance with a lazy sort of effervescence. The nose is loaded with bright honey and floral components in addition to a whiff of spice. Light minty cooling character on the palate and a touch of pepper and clove spiciness. Fresh with a little bit of spice and some very soft honey flavour and aroma. Bright and a little bit acidic but not tart. Light lemon and a bit of dustiness toward the finish. It has a kiss of sweetness, but doesn’t come across as cloying at all. I love the really cooling finish on the back of the palate. This really works for me... lovely stuff.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 neuromatt (858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2013
25 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy golden with a small white head that fades quickly to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there is a huge amount of honey, along with notes of honey, pale malts, yeast, flowers and subtle spice. The flavor is moderately sweet with honey and malts, along with earth and a subtle hoppy bitterness. The finish is long and mildly bitter with a lingering honey sweetness. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice honey ale. It is fairly simple, but has an elegant honey sweetness. Would be a nice spring sipper. 2013-03-31
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 magsinva (600) - Virginia, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Bottle from State Line Liquors - pours peachy with a white head. Aroma is wheaty with a honey finish. Taste is mild Saigon, but not sweet. The honey seems to tone down the sour. Overall, nice, but wish the honey was more present.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20 DiarmaidBHK (2274) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2013
Bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Has a bit of honey on the tongue. Has all the DuPont Saison notes on the tongue. The honey gives it some smoothness on the finish. Very nice.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 bartlebier (459) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - MAR 25, 2013
2x25cl bottles, family tasting. - Wild natural, floral honey upfront in the nose, reminding me personally more of a swag handmade soap shop, but going over pretty well with the ladies in the sampling group. The pungent herbal honey, albeit eco/sustainable/biologique as it may, really strips the character out of the typical Saison Dupont dryness, so I would not label this beer a saison anymore just for that. It is not overly sweet, but I’d prefer my honey on a breakfast toast before I start drinking in the evening...(score= median of vox pops on the matter).
