COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biere de Miel is bottle conditioned and contains only water, barley and wheat, honey, hops and yeast. It has a marvelously delicate scent of honey, balnaced by a dry palate, resulting in a beer that is both estery and refreshing.

Disclaimer: Both the normal and the organic (biologique) version.

On tap in Moeder Fontainas. Gosh, actually a decent honey beer. A bit hazy orange in colour. Very heavy spice flavours, big Belgian yeast presence, some farmhouse saison funk in there. Quite sweet and on the way to being a little meadish, but enough hop bitterness to cut through. Really good.

250 ml bottle. Clear gold pour with smallish white head. Aroma is grassy, floral, light perfumy notes, dupont yeast, very mild. Taste is grainy, soft sweet honey notes, spicy yeasty finish, finishes clean, very saison-esque. Palate is light-medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice.

Pours a cloudy medium golden color with a fizzy white foam that extends two plus fingers. The nose has some upfront esters of spearmint and herbs but is balanced nicely by some doughy malt and honey sweetness, grass and marzipan. The palate follows with brisk carbonation and refreshing notes of straw, touch of musky fruit, grass, beeswax and grain. Nice from front to back. Pretty damn complex and drinkable.

25 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Het Natuurhuis in Antwerp. BBF 01/2015. Pours a hazy mandarin orange with a small white head that gives some pretty neat lacing. Nose is way too heavy on herbal tea & medicine to me, like standing inside an alternative medicine store & inhaling really deeply, most floral & herbal medicine honey imaginable, air refresher, huge amount of esters, original yes but not really my thing. Taste is same medicine, camomile & dandelion concentrate tea, very floral in similar style honey, yeast, sweet corn, sweet, pepper,… Carb. is high. I find this pretty hard to get into, this is like a beer version of herbal tea. I can see certain people falling in love with this but I am not big herbal tea. Seems like an extreme hate / love brew. I find it very hard to get into.

Bottle (250 ml). Bio version. Hazy golden with a medium mostly lasting white head and some lacing. Aroma is of honey, floral notes, spices, mint and a light wheat presence. Taste is mostly of honey along with mint, spices and light acidic touch. Alcohol is very well hidden. Medium body. Good carbonation. Unusual, but interesting Saison. Not the highest drinkability here, but it’s still quite enjoyable (especially a small bottle like that).

bottle pours fuzzy blonde, good white foam smell is as close to cleaning products as possible . honey in the back, but overpowered by a chemical, sweet, almost ’javel’-like smell . i swear this smells 100 % like a product i once used to clean the floor . taste is more of the same . chemical, honey , damn damn bad ... please dont even make me drink this again .. is this even suposed to be for oral consumption ?

25cl organic version. pours hazy pale yellow with a nice white head, good retention and lacing. spicy and dusty yeast, wild honey - flirting with sweet minty and bubblegum, honeyed malts and fresh cereals - , floral and fruity esters. unusual aroma. sweet raw wheat. bright to average carbonation - foamy atr times, light body - oily, relatively dry and firmly bitter herbal-grassy finish. interesting and nice.. for a honey beer..

Cloudy golden colour with thin white head. Over-powering smell of honey that is just too much for me. Palate is ok though with nice carbonation. Tastes of honey, yeast, spices but much more balanced than the aroma. Very original but wouldn’t have again.

Bottle sample. Pours a slightly cloudy gold, with a fluffy white head flecks of lace. Nose is very peculiar, definitely honey. Tastes Belgian, a touch bitter, honey, sweet. Very different.

Hazy blond, some white foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet aroma (honey) with. Malty and bitter. Good beer, but nothing special.
