3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - AUG 20, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2008 Tried at Bier Circus, a pub in Brussels. More witbier-like to me than a saison. A good palate cleanser, dry with distinct hoppy finish. Nice but unexciting. Re-rate bottle. Hazy bright golden with billowy off-white head. Floral, yeasty aroma is dynamic and refreshing with pear, just-ripe banana, lightly toasted baguette in background, some lemon zest. Fizzy, highly carbonated. Prickly mouthfeel. Dry, egg shell, bread crumb, rye cracker, pencil shaving, clean hoppy finish. Simply lovely and had to up-grade first rating.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 8, 2007
Medum white head. Pale faintly hazy yellow body. Mealy spicy rubbery aroma. Sharp chalky rubbery taste with spicy, fruity hoppy typically Belgian notes. Has good aspects, but too watered down for them to have much effect. Intensely harsh mouthfeel does not help. No real aftertaste. Not very successful. (0.25l bottle at Akkurat.)

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 8, 2007
(Bottle 25 cl) Hazy golden with an off-white head. Vague, citrusy nose. Light-bodied, dry, slightly cardboardish with vague citrus notes - no bitterness. Very thin and lacking personality. 160507

Draught. golden coloured. Unclear. Dense white head. Banana, yeast and sweetness in the aroma. This continues into the flavour. Some fruity and light floral notes as well. Is very thin bodied. Has a light citric and sweet end. Loads of saisons just dont do it for me. This is very uninteresting.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 25, 2006
Bottle at Caves Dupont (the brewery tap), pale gold with a think white foamy head. A bitter pollen and honey aroma. Very light mouthfeel (well, it is 3.5%), pleasant sweet and floral hoppy flavour and a gentle dry finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bov (8158) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - OCT 5, 2006
very slightly hazy pale golden colour, nice persistant foam and a beautiful lacing; complex aroma where the typical touch of Dupont is present: hay, spices, grapefruit and some honey; the body is quite thin but a correct bitterness appears very soon and lasts in a long dry finish which lacks a little bit of dimension
