3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 f351c4v (411) - Mechanicsburg, USA - AUG 22, 2009
Bottle from Publick House. Pours a slightly hazed golden color with a nice white head. Trademark Belgian saison in light form. Fresh risen dough and yeast dominate the nose, with the slightest hint of hay/cloves. Nicely carbonated; I get lots of lemon zest, return of the hay and cloves, with a hint of sour in the bitter finish. Very bright beer, quite refreshing. Excellent beer, and at 3.5%, you can enjoy this one all day, if you can find it...

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2012
his beer was tasted at the 2007 Zythos fest.
The weakest beer (in alcohol strength) I tried.
Hazy, light urine yellow, go and see a doctor if you pass anything like this, no head to speak of.
The aroma was of yeast, malt and summer flowers mixed up with lemons, not normal, but not unpleasant either.
Tasted fine, slight fizz to it, citrus fruits to the fore which made it fairly sour and bitter.
Mouthfeel wasn’t great, the bitterness hung around for a while, otherwise nothing much at all.
A summer, hot day beer, I would have another, but not search one out.

Nice well rounded drink, tons of body for a relatively low alcohol volume. Malty and wheaty, refreshing to the end.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 rangerred (340) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 15, 2012
Dupont Avril poured into a tulip.
Appearance is a hazy straw yellow with tons of carbonation leaving a billowy white head. Great lacing and head retention.
Smell is a little skunky at first but that soon yields to a nice yeasty aroma with a tiny hint of barnyard funk. Some clove and banana with a little bit of lemon.
The flavor is quite crisp with some light grain and wood followed by a hint of lemon tartness. A little grape and barnyard round out the flavors. The finish is extremely dry and clean leaving you wanting another sip.
It is slightly lacking in flavor and body but for only being 3.5%, this beer would be a great thirst quencher on a hot day.

Bottle @ home. Pours a hazy golden appearance with a nice, fluffy white head. There’s a somewhat floral, yet spicy yeasty element along with an effervescent, light citrusy, bready aroma. Tangy, refreshingly acidic, lemon citrusy, somewhat spicy, a touch tart flavor. There’s a nice mustiness to go along a floral component. Effervescent, easy drinking beer.

Draft at Ginger Man as Dupont Avril. Crystal clear, pale yellow, small whispy head. Some funk, grass, mineral, light citrus. Highly carbonated and very light, watery body. Lacking on aroma and flavor, but it’s an authentic feeling low alcohol saison, and quite refreshing.
