5/20/12. 750mL bottle labeled as "Foret Blanche." Very pale, slightly cloudy pour, almost yellow in nature, with a huge, nice, fluffy white head that sticks around forever and laces in spots here and there. Light aroma of soft wheat with definite touches of coriander and a hint of citrus, but not much. Very light flavor with bits of wheat, pale malts, and lingering citrus, but the coriander stands out again on my palate. Thin body with high carbonation. Not bad.

25cl bottle. Light lemon/golden with small white head. Nose : straw, strong lemon, clove. Sip : tingling carbonation and the body is creamy and oily. Sweet and grainy with lemon and mandarin freshness. Refreshing and easy to drink. One of the best white beers I tasted.

2011 bottle. Pours clear pale gold with a white fluffy sudsy head that settles to a soapy film. Aroma has good fruity yeasty scents with some funk and biscuit. Taste is biscuit and yeast with subtle funk and mild dry fruit. Palate is thin with a lively carbonation and a very drying finish. Refreshing, but dry.

Spicy, corriander dry, slightly sour nose on this hazy blonde beer. Wheat spice and slight sourness in the mouth with characteristic dupont yeast esters, sprightly carbonation and rich malt finish.

25cl bottle at home. Small quickly diminishing white head on top of a pale golden colored beer. Smell sweetness and something weird. Dry, bit sourish taste. Low body, a bit fizzy carbo. Very disappointing actually.

Whole Foods, P st, DC 750ml ($11): Pours a really pale yellow with a small white head that don’t leave no lacing. Aroma is kind of sweaty, along with coriander and some fruitiness. Body is extremely light, with just a hint of a spicy bite. Tiny amount of sweetness. But this is really bordering on a watery white. Not the best witbier by a long-shot, but somewhat different and interesting.

Appearance: cloudy orange butterscotch, thick white head, lots of lace. Aroma: cracked pepper, grass, hay, barnyard, light citrus, ritz crackers, honey, and coriander. Taste: toasted white bread, peppery hops, yeast, citrus, and coriander. Finish: crackery, dry, lingering spicy yeast. Notes: Fantastic wit. More peppery than the usual version in this style, but this was a nice twist. Extremely refreshing, with a creamy but light palate that is just plain outstanding.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. A champagne appearance. Kind of that in the nose. Some fruit, wheat, and malt. Wheat flavors first. Maltiness and fruit later. Well carbonated and, yes, champagne like feel. Just ok.
