3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ruigo (273) - PORTUGAL - MAY 7, 2013
It pours a golden yellow in colour. Because I poured it slowly it created almost no head, due to its low carbonation. Citrus and yeast aroma, a complex flavour with a sour end that is not so pleasant at first but grows on you. A good beer but not extraordinary.

Aroma is skunky up front, then citrus, lemons, berries, spices and yeast after. The flavor is wheat, citrus, spices and a mix of tartness and mild sourness in the finish.

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso - Georgetown. Really excellent. Lightly tart with a bit of citrus peel. Wheat in the background. Very light and drinkable. Amazing wit.

25 cl. bottle. BBF 08/2014. Appearance is a hazy citrus paler golden citrus with a small and fading egg-white head on top. Nose is very big on lemon and coriander with a slight acidic touch coupled with some wheat and overt banana sweetness coupled with some light EU hops. Flavour is that of sweet wheat and banana whilst being very heavy on coriander, light bitterness for EU hops but only very slight with a light milk acidity to it,… Carbonation is quite high and body feels a bit empty almost watery. This is indeed not all that which I was hoping it would be but it is certainly consumable and lower tier within the style. It does feels a bit dumbed down.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2013 Nice beer, quite refreshing as a white beer should be even if flavour remains limited.

Foret bottling. Hazy light gold. Aroma is lightly wheaty, hint of coriander, spice, and faint citrus. Flavor is a match. A bit more yeast driven spice than frequently found in a wit, but quite enjoyable. Well done beer, the spouse liked this one a lot.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a massive 2-inch white head over a murky yellow body. The head could co-habit my weizen glass forever, it seems. Dry, dusty yeast on the nose. Flavors embark a cheesy, yeasty adventure in the mouth. Also lemon, grass, lemongrass, cream-of-wheat, cereal, and subtle banana and citrus in the finish. Medium/high carbonation and light body. Refreshing and flavorful. Nice work.

Bottle at home. It pours clear straw yellow with a medium white head. The nose is sweet pear, apple, wheat and herbs. The taste is tart lemon, soap, wheat, pepper, grass and light herbal notes with a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Clean, crisp and lightly tart. Nice palate cleanser.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 Bottle from The Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Blond lager with an enormous head, perhaps down to my amateurish pouring. High visible fizz. Fruity aroma with apples, like a sweet lambic. Taste doesn’t live up to that - while pleasant, this is a mild tasting citrus wheat with fizzy mouthfeel. Short finish. Pleasant and drinkable but not outstanding in any way.
