WallyWalrus (196), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jul 3, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours a cloudy gold color with a huge white head. Aroma is earthy and sweet, with a big backbone of malt, bread, and grain along with a variety of sweeter notes like apples, citrus, honey, spices, and floral notes. Taste is crisp but with a big body, with an initial creamy body of grains and bread opening up into sweeter and crisper notes of citrus, apples, spices, and yeast. Delicious -- I love all of the flavors and aromas involved. A saison as complex as a stout. Theis (3227), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 3, 2009 Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Cloudy golden/amber - white head. Fresh hoppy, fruity, orange, citrus, yeasty, apples, yeast esters, sweetnes, honey, zesty, cardboard. Kasper Larsen would love this !!! boFNjackson (1011), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 27, 2009 Bottle from Organic Brewers Fest... Poured a cloudy orange with a thick white head. Spiced, yeasty and bread-like aroma. Dry palate, crisp and refreshing. Yeast and bread flavors with a honey, earthy sweetness and cucumber-like vegetables. Ibrew2or3 (2402), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jun 26, 2009 This 2006 vintage 750mL of Dupont Foret poured hazy gold with thin white head. The aroma is fruity with apples, sugars and yeasty spice. Nice aroma. The taste has a pulse of grains then moving into a brief note of apple, apricot and then mild sugar sweetness. This brew is smooth and tasty ending with the added sense of a moment of tartness. stefanje (826), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jun 23, 2009 33cl bottle of Foret from Bev4less in Santee. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a big sudsy white head that has fair retention. The nose is spicy with white pepper, thyme, dried grass and some lightly funky yeast. The flavor is rich and complex with light fruits, grass, spice, a hint of bubblegum, and some barnyard funk. The mouthfeel is light and satisfying. The finish is medium and dry. Overall: A top notch saison. I very much enjoyed this. Dickinsonbeer (3280), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 23, 2009 750 ml bottle 2008. Pours a hazy deep golden light orange with a massive sticky white head and nice lace. Aroma is very hoppy- grassy, herbal and almost a slight bit minty, esp when chilled- as it warms the yeasty esters and phenols come out - typical dupont strain- mineral , salt, fresh cut hay, farmhousey, with beautiful fresh bready malts and toast. Flavor is initially a orange chalky pez, minerallyness, with fresh grassy hops and light citrus, light minty bubblegum and yeasty doughy phenols- with slight leather in the finish. For a 7.5% saison the finish is there but it is so minerally and bone dry- very refreshing. Awesome saison. djd07 (606), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange golden with a medium frothy white head that lasts awhile leaving behind decent spotty lacing along the glass with a lot of carbonation and bubbles. The aroma is a fruity malt with light floral hops. Medium mouthfeel wtih a sour fruit taste with apple and citrus. Easy to drink hiding the alcohol well, a very good refreshing saison form Dupont Brasserie. NDbeerdrinker (160), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jun 2, 2009 Pours yellow with a big white head. Aroma is pungent. Sweet, pleasantly funky yeasty smell with a kick of alcohol (like champagne). Taste is sweet, some citrus, malty, and the spice hits you at the end. I really liked this one.
