3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2014 Bottle (750 ml). 2014 cork. Split 3-ways.
Appearance: Murky amber/brown with a medium quickly diminishing off-white head and little lacing.
Aroma: Quite spicy with caramel malt, earthy notes and light fruitiness.
Taste: Spices, caramel malt, light fruitiness, acidiy notes and not much else.
Palate: Medium body. Prickly carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Spicy finish.
Overall: Quite disappointing from Dupont. Reading some other ratings, this beer seems to change a lot yearly. This one clearly lack of depth as there’s not much else behind the spiciness. The aroma and taste aren’t that bad, but the body is really weak and there’s no Dupont nice usual rustic features either.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color of dried apricots, very hazy. Yellow-dust-colored, medium-fine, uniform head which fades to film at a moderate-to-quick rate. Aroma is a sweet nectar, neutral, light caramel, sweet hay, apple pie, hint of granny smith underneath the sweetness. Little light brown sugar. Medium body, watery but slightly syrupy. Soft, medium coarseness in the carbonation. Flavor is light, clean demerara sweetness with an herbal, delicate bitterness to balance throughout the taste. Fades quietly. Some sweet pear. Very nice, yummy biere de garde. I love the bitterness balance in the flavor.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma is sour and has a bit of bread and some fruit. Pours light brown with a rich white head. Taste is complex, a mix of malts, caramel, fruits and a hint of nuts. Palate is fittingly thin and very drinkable. Overall a good beer with a complexity.

Pours a darkish amber with a fizzy offwhite head. Nose is a little banana, raisin, clove, brown sugar, a slight damp funk. Flavor is dark fruit, plum, raisin, banana, slightly sharp on the mid palate, lots of clove on the finish, with a little brandy and some candi sugar. Medium body with a fizzy carbonation. Not bad.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ home. Pours a hazy light borwn color with a huge head. Sweet and malty aroma with lots of fruits. Apples and pear, apricots and lemon. Bread, grain, dust, dough, candy, a hint of alcohol and some toffee & pepper also constitutes the aroma. Medium bodied, smooth but lightly astringent mouth feel.Taste of pear, apples, bread, pepper, apricots, dough. Mid-taste has orange and more pepper plus bread & candy. Drier finish with dusty notes, more pear, apple peel and a moderate nutty bitterness. Nice complexity, but a bit too sprawling. Will probably mellow out with some aging.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle, pours a dark rusted amber brown with a medium beige head. Nose brings out toasted chestnuts, farmhouse notes, toasted oak and bready malt. Flavour reveals dry nutty notes upfront, with toasted crusty rye bread, oak and farmhouse yeast. Quite complex, with many deep layers. Robust and flavourful. ABV is extremely well-masked. Excellent.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A nice beer de garde. Not my favorite style... But still well made from a very respected brewery. Aromas are slightly funky yeast. Some sweet and candy like aromas too. Flavors are sweet and malty...dried fruit, caramel, funk. Nice stuff.
