UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 15cl tap @ Brugs Bierfestival. Hazy amber, white foamy head. Malty flavours like brown sugar, vanilla, bread slightly dominate over fruity soreness, rounded off by a little/subtle bitter sweetness. Decent beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip
A - Hazy reddish orange with 2 full fingers of pillowy off-white head. The head never drops below 1/2 an inch.
S - Dry and yeasty, earthy mushrooms, bready malts in the background, old bubblegum, spearmint, fruity alcohol, spiced taffy, spiced tea.
T - Spicy yeast, very spicy, nutmeg, all spice, maybe some cinnamon, very dry but there is an underlying sweetness tied to the heavy malt base, some herbal spearmint-like hops, finishes dry with yeast coating the palate.
M - Full bodied, foamy carbonation, creamy body with snappy dry finish.
Yeast and spice dominate this beer. Not a typical BSPA which is nice. A sturdy malt base brings intentions of strong sweetness but is snuffed out but the dry yeast. Very complex and ever changing through the different temperatures of the drink. Dupont delivered my expectations of this beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A beautiful colour, reddish brown, a head is dense, quite big and blond. The nose is fruitfull and slightly earthyness, some apricots, spices and after a long thinking clearly at minced meat pasty. Taste of fruits, tartness, biscuity malts, spices. At least medium+ bodied with high carbonation. The body is quite heavy with hint of alcohol in the taste and the strong carbonation lightening that nicely. This can be notified for Dupond’s beer at least when you know what you are tasting. Quite basic belgian strong ale, but still tastefull.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy garnet-orange with substantial suspended sediment and a thick bubbly khaki head that hangs out a while and leaves some touches of soapy lace. Refreshing nose involves rustic spicy yeast, light citrus, pear, sweet grain, and dusty notes. Pretty sweet flavor, somewhat tart, with a fair bitterness. Light to medium bodied, high champagne-like carb, tingly, with a caramel-sweet then drying finish. A fine and enjoyable brew that complimented a hearty meal nicely.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy reddish brown with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma has some nuttiness and some malty & dusty aromas. There’s a really nice balance of earthiness and fruitiness all around here.
The flavor is a touch dusty with some bright pear. It’s pretty dry with some leafiness. It’s got a real pronounced caramel presence but keeps it dry... so there’s not much sweetness behind that caramel flavor, it’s sort of a neat trick.
It’s lively on the palate.
Boy I’m tossing courtesy scores @ these shelf beers all damn day 2-day.
