4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Delirium Hoppy Loft on 12th November 2012. Virtually black with a light tan head and spot lacing. Rich roast coffee aroma, with smokiness in background. Delectable roasts in mouth; cigar smoke and coffee. Roasty finish with smoke and delicate citrus. Zingy mouthfeel, a little less body than expected for a 5.2 stout, nevertheless full of flavour. I have taken into account how much better it would taste if NOT served at fridge temperature - it would do well at around 15C.

Tap at Craft Beer Base Bud. Much nicer than I remember it being. Roasty. Bit of coffee, dark chocolate. Nice stuff. Little hoppiness. Bitter. Good stuff. Prefer it to when I had it in Belgium. Feels a little funky.

Drank 03-10 during the beergeeks @ struise day. Thanks Tijs for sharing this bottle before we re-entered the bus to continue our journey from de Bierhalle to Struise. An average stout. Not very special. Has a slight stout-like bitter, dry coffee-ish taste but all very mild/weak.

Bottle at home with Indian food. Decent- was expecting a bit more. Fairly light bodied for a stout. Belgian notes obvious but not overpowering . Not blown away. Nice and clean/dry in the finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown to black colored, yeast sediment, small beige to tan non lasting head. Aroma is yeast, roasted malt, chocolate and bit roasty acidity. Taste is medium to low sweet malt, roasted malt, some chocolate, lots of yeast, peppery-spicey, some burnt malt, hints of acidity. Dry roasty and peppery finish. Medium- bodied and moderate carbonation. You can tell it’s a Belgian brew and not a very thrilling stout...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Pigalle. Pours a deep black with a nice soapy cappuchino colored head that lingers throughout. Classic Brasserie Dupont yeast on the nose with some dark fruit, cacao and roasted malt. The taste is very roasty with slight bit of coffee and fruit and coffee as it warms. The yeast really drives the flavor along with the roasty malt. Bone dry finish with roasted malt. Very nice and very Belgian.
