2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 GT2 (3440) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 17, 2011
Tap at Churchkey thanks to Travlr. The pour is a clear yellow with a small white head quickly diminshing. Nose is pretty obvious diacetyl and margarine character...how did this happen with a lager? Taste is big butter slickness masking what is underneath could possibly be a beautiful beer- fresh papaya and melon character. Palate is spritzy and very sharp carbonation. Unwelcome diacetyl slickness. Really could be something awesome but severely lacking in fundamentals.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 suprchunk (802) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - NOV 12, 2011
Pale straw pour. Small white head that fades quickly. A small amount of lacing left over. A dry malty aroma. Slight bit of hops and yeast. Dry and sweet mouthfeel. A slight hoppy bitterness and taste. Slight malt flavor as well. Very dry. Not bad, but there is something not quite right that I can’t put my finger on.

It poured a slightly hazy golden liquid with a white head. Mild smell and taste pale malts and light bread. A fresh pilsner that is lightly malted and with a mild bitterness.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 15, 2011
Draught at Toronado. Medium yellow-gold with lace. Grainy aroma, with hay, cereals, very malty. Rich cereal malt flavor as well, with grains, light hops, hay, ok bitterness. Rather heavy. Sweet and worty—rather under-attenuated, it seems. A huge disappointment from one of my favorite brewers.

Draft. Golden-straw colored beer with an off-white head. Mineral and light fruity aroma with light malt. Light fruity and malt flavor with light grain and light mineral notes. Medium bodied. Malt and light mineral lingers with light fruitiness.

A hazed pale golden pils with a thick white head. In aroma, a grainy malt, mineral and grassy. In mouth, a nice grainy malt with light German czech hops, caramel malt, biscuitty, not bad. On tap at Nuetnigehough, July 13, 2011.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (6146) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 15, 2011
On tap at the Toronado. Pours with a clear golden body with a small but lasting white head with great lace. Aromas are bready, quite sweet, malty, grainy, perfume, floral, light lavender. Taste has a fruit note (I cannot tell if it is ester or hop driven), lavender, ripe plums, tea, grainy and bready. Overall a bit sweet. Lively bubble. Doesn’t feel like a classic pils, but is a tasty beer.
