Pale yellow in colour. There’s a background fruity sweetness to this one which contrasts strongly against the strong bitter finish.

Jaune clair, effervescence moyenne, col blanc moyen. Malts cara, pointe de citron, bonne amertume, supérieure à celle de la plupart des autres pils.

5 % vol. alc. Golden-yellow color with a good white head. Aroma good balance between hops and grainy-malts. Thin to medium body. Taste sweet, very malty, grains, good hops and bitterness in the end.

On tap and from 25cl bottle @laudable coop Eetcafé Toreke, Rabot Hood, Gent. No notice of starchy/corny sweetness around, although prominently malt-forward, even grainy. Shy floral and herbal notes. One of the more enjoyable, crisp Belgian pilsners with an elegant almond finish. Maybe that is why it is still so rare in Belgian cafés.

On tap @ Café Rose Red (Bruges). Clear yellow/golden with a small white head and heavy lacing. Aroma is herbal with cereals and pils malt. Taste is also herbal with cereals and light perfume notes. Light body. Moderate carbonation. Clean. Decent pils. Drinkable and quenching.

At the Kloister Dupont tasting. Thick white head. Clear golden pour. Quite a decent pils.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2014 Draught at Deep Ellum, Summer 2012
Pale straw golden appearance, clear, with a moderate amount of white head that recedes steadily to cover.
So glad I got to try this beer. Was hoping that we’d be seeing this regularly, now, but alas it seems to have just been one single keg.
A bit of paper and acetyldehyde in the nose, with some herbal hoppiness and light vanilla maltiness. Medium strength of aroma with no alcohol noted.
Lightly sweet, with a bit of powdered sugar and lemon. Otherwise, it’s a dry, bitterly-hopped pils with notes of lemon and lime and less in the way of deep honeyed malts. Not as clean as I was hoping for, perhaps not the freshest keg? I don’t know, but still perfectly drinkable and with enough hop flavor and bitterness to work through any of the flaws. Light bodied with a somewhat loose carbonation.

Bottle from Geers. Crystal clear gold pour with thin disappearing white head. Aroma is grainy, belgian pils, light hay. Taste is grainy, mildly sweet, not very bitter, the metallic taste is low, which is nice for a belgian pils for once. Palate is light, very refreshing. Its nice, but not much seperates this from macro lagers, lacks character maybe.

Bottle @ Eetcafé Toreke, Gent. Pale yellow colour, blond foam. Semi bitter pilsener. Some sweet malty notes. Refreshing and drinkable but very thin.
