For me THE best Belgian Pilsner. Nice hoppy aroma and malty, biscuit taste. Light bitter and quite dry and crisp. Very smooth pilsner, and uncomparable with Jupiler or other mainstream Belgian Pilsners. From tap this one is waaay better than bottled.

Pilsig, gelb. IN der Nase PIlsnoten, Malzsüße, leicht muffig. Am Gaumen süßlich, leicht pilsig, nicht herb genug. Ok.

Drunk from 25cl bottle bought at Malting Pot in Brussels. Fairly standard pils style beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(draught) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of heavy butter, lavender and grainy pale malts, rather pungent, with a light caramel sweetness and some raisins. flavour is mostly the same, lots of butter, grainy pale malts and herbal hops, with a light hint of caramel and lavender. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

*Old rating, best before 05/2012. Würzig-süffiges Pils. Schön rund, feinherb, leicht süßlich. Lecker.

bottle 25cl, a clear yellow beer with low head. Nose is on grain, aroma is low, nutty with almond notes, medium hoppy, low body, grassy and almond finish, light wet paper notes. A bit thin to be really enjoyable.

Bottle shared in the car in Belgium - March 2013. Pours clear, light yellow with a mild, white cream head. Lots of doughy malts in the nose, white bread, biscuits. Light sweet flavor with crispy straw, dry biscuits, hay, dry dough. Light bodied with average carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Clean finish with light bitter hay, crunchy straw, further doughy biscuits. Lovely.

Saison brewery Dupont became so important because it remained true to its heritage and varied upon one of the old brewing traditions which remained alive in Belgium - the main thing which makes Belgium such an interesting beer country - but their old-fashioned approach is equally applicable to this unpasteurized ’pils’, of which many more existed some decades ago. It has a moussy, cream white, stable head and a deep golden blond colour, just a tad darker than usual, with a light haze of dusty yeast. The aroma is a genuine, pleasantly bready malt sweetness with honeyish touch and delicately flowery hops; rounded palate with honeyish malt sweetishness, soft with mild carbo and a long but gentle, herbal hop bitterishness and agreeable dryness. I agree with the people here stating that Belgium hardly has any good lagers, but if it has, this is one of them.
