~Strong grainy, sour corn pils malt aroma, slightly sweet, earthy hop in background. ~Pours clear yellow color with lasting creamy white head. ~Sweet malty bready corn flavor, very light spicy hops in background. A little on the sweet side. ~Medium body, med high CO2, sweet grainy abrupt finish. ~A non offensive pils to serve to your BMC friends. A bit on the sweet end for me. Would only want one or two of these.

Bottle. Pours clear pale yellow with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is Pilsner malt, corn and cereal, spicy hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and warmth with medium carbonation.

12oz bottle: pours a clear pale golden with a spotty lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet pale malty nose with some mild grassy hop notes. Starts with a light sugary sweetness and some mild buttery grains and herbal hops before a drier bittersweet finish. Pretty bland, but drinkable.

355mL thanks MrChopin. Clear sparkling lager gold. Nose is sweet, red cherry grenadine. Whoa. Taste is sweet cherry with paper and mealy apple. Eh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ok, this won’t get stellar numbers, but for the price this stuff is as good as Schlitz. I was worried when I saw it was brewed at City (is that still true?). So it is fizzy yellow stuff, but a solid all malt type flavor, decent hoppiness to balance it away from being terribly sweet. I drank three pretty quickly and was still happy when the bill came.

Bottle. Better than a domestic pilsner, but you get what you pay for. Less than a buck a bottle. Do the math. Typical pilsner aroma, appearance, and taste except for a pleasantly sweet aftertaste. The palate is more firm than watery domestics and the taste purer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy by stoneagerad

Reacquainted with this in an odd way --- standing at Marshall’s Service Station in Spring Garden, Pittsburgh, one of the employees pulled a single out of his trunk and passed it on to me. Thanks kind stranger! Anyhow, this is an average Pilsener that enjoyed a good rep in Pittsburgh some time ago. Good to see it back in production, and it will surely satisfy the tastes of those who want a good drinking beer without any pretensions.
