COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We let the gauge go a little high on this one. What results is Durango Derail Ale, a full strength high gravity ale with more alcohol than our other fine beers. Take notice of the beautiful golden color and hoppy aroma and heed the government warning about operating machinery (and trains!).

Bomber - pours a hazy gold, with a light ring of foam - the whole experience comes across like drinking an overly sweet double IPA in which the hops of gone dull and stale - kind of a sweet mess, with a bit of sulfuric character and vegetal notes - the alcohol, sweetness and limited hop character do a half-assed job of covering these flaws - some cooling mint flavor on the back end - an odd mess of a beer, but not entirely undrinkable.

Bottle @ home. Golden orange appearance with a white head. Sweet paler malty, creamy, citrusy hoppy aroma. Bitter, grassy, citrusy hoppy, bready, straw, pale malty flavor. Not all that smooth.

RSRIZZO (1679) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 23, 2011
22oz bottle poured into a Snifter at 48°. Color is a light gold with mellow carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is sweet, malt up front then a mellow hop scent. Medium body with a rich mouth feel. Flavor is sweet, its like creamed corn then some hops show up to give a touch of bitterness, but its just not enough. After taste is clean leaving a little bitterness behind. Overall I don’t really like it, not that its bad just a little too sweet and unbalanced for me.

Headbanger (2131) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 23, 2011
22oz bottle 3/23/11 (Veteran Liquor) 48° in snifter. Pours an orangish amber with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of exactly the same. This full bodied brew is not bad but not sure what style they were going for.

bomber from wagon wheel in durango consumed 8/13/10. hazy orange with a soft white head. strange aroma... sweet grain/wort/cereal, sugar right when it begins to caramelize, straw, dried herbaceous hops, honey, flowers, alcohol and an add vegetal note akin to cooked cantaloupe. sweet palate... overly. the flavor is annoying... all cantaloupe. arrogant cantaloupe making everything else take like you. bastard.there’s some wort/sweet caramel graininess and lemon but i can’t get past the melon flavor. medium bodied, soft and creamy with little prickly blasts once in a while. 5/3/4/3/11/2.6

rader58 (612) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - OCT 5, 2010
Pours a cloudy golden color. Aroma is floral, orange, clover, honey and leaves. Flavor is bitter hops of floral and grass up front with a light sweetness of honey in the finish. Alcohol is prevalent in the finish too. A nice strong ale, but not as harsh as some. Not too overwhelming. Well done.

Bottle. Pours clear light copper with an average, frothy and bubbly white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel), moderate hops (citrus, spruce, pine), light yeast (dough) with notes of light alcohol, pear, peach, apple, and pineapple. Medium bodied, sticky texture, and lively carbonation. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity, moderate bitterness.

Good Beer. It’s not quite an IPA, because It doesn’t have the bitterness and too much Malt profile shines through. However, there is plenty of late-hop additions, as it is very floral and citrusy. The malt profile is sort of sweet and uneventful, but it seems to be just pale malt and maybe some Dextrine. The flavor is somewhat unsettling, perhaps due to the sweetness. Overall, decent brew
