3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 dogbomb (280) - ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2012
Bottle. Hazy gold. No head. Nose of coriander, toffee and sweet honey. In the mouth, more honey, more coriander, orange peel, melon. Lovely lush fresh tastes. Grapefruit. Finish very sweet, almost too much. I'd be interested in trying another of these.

Bottle from brewery. No head, a little carbonation. Lots of sweet orange and coriander in their take on a tripel. Pretty good too.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DuffMan (4428) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 19, 2012
Bottle, that once opened, threatened to gush but only emptied its neck down the side of the bottle before I got it into the glass. Needless to say, this beer is GASSY. Medium honey colour, crazy white crown that actually collapses rather quickly and doesn’t leave any lace. Aroma is sweet, more like peaches-in-syrup than fresh peaches, and lightly phenolic. The flavours seem simple and overly sweet to me, with the same fruit character and a little spice. Mild bitterness in the finish. I’m not a fan of tripels in general, and this one seemed mediocre at best.

A clear golden colored beer, with a small foamy white head. The aroma of some fruits with notes of hops. The taste of a lot of fruits, like peaches, malts with a nice hop bitter. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Westholme Stores, Goring, Oxon. Hazy orange gold with slight head. There is a heavy yeasty note along with the spices and a hefty wallop of alcohol. Some sweetness, fruity, esters, but the spice and corriander dominate a little. Heavy on the finish.

500ml bottle pours a golden color with about 2 fingers of white head with some good retention eventually leaving some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light malts and some fruit with a hint of yeast and coriander. Taste is light malty sweetness enhanced with fruit and spices and yeast with some hop bitterness. A really nice tripel which left me in good spirits upon completion.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hawthorne00 (1439) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 25, 2011
Bottle. Gold with a white head. Aroma of light sugars, oranges and spices, light dough. Subdued sweetness with caramel, peaches, orange, biscuit, vanilla, coriander, white pepper, cloves. Alcohol very well hidden. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel beneath the yeast. Maybe the coriander’s a bit much towards the finish. Very English malt touches but very much a Tripel - and a good one.
