3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml Bottle. Cloudy orange pour with an off-white head. Malty, fruity aroma, hints of honey, oranges, lavender with a noticeable whiff of alcohol. Flavour has some hops, citrus, toffee, marmalade and spice. Combination of sweet and bitter on the palate with a fairly long finish. Kind of like a barley wine, this is refreshing and easy drinking, maybe not as well crafted as some other Durham beers but well worth a go.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the bottle, a glorius golden brown colour. Nice malt & floral hop nose. The palate is full & the beer has quite some power as you would expect from a beer of this strength but still retains a nice bitterness. Tremendously complex flavours, slight sweetness, honeysuckle & fruit in the mid palate then loads of floral dry hops on the finish. The top belgian breweries would be proud of this, even my wife liked it.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours quite thick copper colour, decent head, smell is quite fruity, clear alcohol. Taste is slightly fruity, a little sweet and metallic, strong alcohol finish, a bit cloying for a 9% beer. Not as good as some other Durham beers mainly due to the over strong alcohol finish.
