4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a beautiful copper colour, with a thin white head, the nose is a full frontal attack of toffee, canned fruit and citrus peel, and a boozy note chucked in. The sweet caramel taste dominates the drinking, though there is enough of a hop bite to stop it from furring the arteries.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via The Dram Shop. Appley gold colour, thin head. Somewhat musty caramel and bread aroma, floral-resin faint aroma in the background. Quite smooth, creamy with a sweet caramel flavour, then the hops kick in to balance the sweetness. Decadent in the end.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
American barlywine done by an English brewer, understated hoppiness, and well balanced, nice. Good drinkability. Golden with only a faint head, faint lace. Pleasant malty aroma. The hops kick in on the finish here and its great. Caramel, malty and yet never too sweet. Medium mouth feel, smooth barleywine. A nice brewing job. Thanks Presario

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20

Hazy orange beer. A little fruit and caramel in the nose. Soft frothy palate. The creamy head has light orange sherbet fizz! The beer has the same lovely orange but deeper and richer, almost like an orange liquer. Creamy mid and then a touch of lemon coming at the finish of this superior beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark amber with a large, lasting white head.
Nose shows orange marmalade, caramel, grapes. Reminiscent of cognac slightly. Interesting.
Very sweet flavours, some grape notes, a bit of booze showing. Somewhat similar to a tripel, the flavours are rather lighter than most barleywines.
Carbonation is too high for these characters.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber colour, white, quickly deminishing head leaving no lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel, peach, nuts and perfume. Flavour is sweet malty, light hops, citrus peel, honey, caramel, fudge and brown sugar. Quite slick, light cloying sweetness, quite like honey. Finish caramel and citrus peel. Not bad, but expected a bit more.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 50 cl, Westholme Stores, shared with Mats. Pours clear amber with a great off white head leaving a good lacing. Aroma is malty sweet madeira raisins and fruity. Flavor a bit dissapointing; weak not much BW character but yet a bit. OK bitterness even in finish.
