COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned; has sometimes been available in the cask.
This barley wine is golden in colour with a luscious malty body. A complex blend of hops give an interesting depth and balancing bitterness. The finish lingers with a rich warmth. Something very special. Smooth deep malt blends with bright hop flavours. A hint of pear drops come from higher alcohols.

Bottle. Amber colour with small white head. Rich and sweet, can taste the alcohol but in a good way. Caramel and raisin, brown sugar, malty. Not the besdt barley wine style I’ve had but a decent enough brew.

Touch of skunk on the nose which i was surprised about given the high alc, good balance with a touch of almond, fairly boring for the hefty price tag!

Medium offwhite head. Clear brown body. Sugary caramelly aroma with spicy cocos and raisins notes. Sweet, and faintly dry, cocos and alcohol taste with spicy grape notes. Full-bodied. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Sweet-dry caramelly toffee and alcohol aftertaste with spicy cocos notes. Interesting and drinkable, but could hide the alcohol better. (0.5l bottle, from House of Trembling Madness, York.)
