Somewhat weak aroma for a black ipa. Pours black with a lasting tan head. Taste is fresh and piney with a wonderful sparkling smooth palate and long aftertaste. Light foran ipa as well.

Smells hoppy and pours at pitch black with an eternal cream on head. The taste has a little sourness but the body is light overall. Some bitterness here but I’m not sure if it’s quite IPA-worthy hoppiness. It’s not bad, but not that full on the palate. On tap at Ceili Cottage.

I tried this beer on tap on March 15, 2012 at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a very dark brown, solid, with a long lasting creamy light brown head. Aroma consisted of roasted malt, some citrus, and weak caramel. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour was roasted malt, some citrusy hops, and a weak hint of grains.

On cask at the Cloak and Dagger. Pours a very dark brown/black with modest-sized tan head. Aroma is roasty with moderate earthy hops. Taste is much more roasty than hoppy, almost has a tar-ish quality. Very burnt finish. Ok, but not my favourite black IPA.

Cask Stillage at Toronto Cask Days festival Volo, Toronto 30/10/2010 Fruit and roast aromas. Black a little rich on the palate strong in alcohol and fruity orange flavour with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a coffee roast finish.

Cask @Volo. Pitch black pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is lightly roasty with some earthiness and spicy hops. A little bit of resiny bitterness. Sort of lightly roasty and a bit chocolatey with a lot of soft hoppiness. It’s a decent BIPA, but it’s quite stoutish.

CASK - Everything about this beer is spectacular. Sweet malty flavours combine perfectly with the bitterness of hops to provide with something that’ll thirst the quench for an IPA or a darker ale at once. Very impressed.

On cask for Cask Days at Volo in Toronto. Served in an English pint glass. Pours black with a small, rocky whitish head. The head mostly remains but leaves no lace. The nose has a sweet, roasted malt aroma with herbal hops. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout, with an herbal hop accent and a strong hop finish. It is medium-full in body with a smooth, milky texture and very soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice example of a black IPA; it is fairly subtle and balanced. Somehow it manages to bring together a fine IPA hop bitterness with roasted notes. 2010-10-29

Appearance : dark brown, opaque mid body with hazed copper on edges. Rich mid plus top is shown. Off creamy texture.
Nose: soft nose , bubble gum , floral hops , hint of caramel. 7-.
Flavor/Palate : smooth , creamy mid full bodied with thinner end. Sugary with roasted malt with solid dose of hops paired together. Hop character increasingly prominent. Interesting brew. 13+/20
