COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned. Available occasionally on cask as Priors Gold.
A good robust bitter. Some crystal malt gives a slight golden colour while a dry rich hoppy bitterness makes for a refreshing experience.

Bottle. After popping the cap this beer begins to rise ominously up the neck, determined to escape the bottle on its own. It’s a live ale alright! Pours a hazy orange-gold requiring several pauses in the pour to allow the ginormous head to settle down. Eventually it collapses into islands of dirty white flotsam with thick heavy rings o lace. Aroma of hay, grapefruit, and faint ammonia. Flavours of reedy malts with a touch of honey sweetness, but then come the hugely bitter hops-- beyond grapefruit, and into pithy peach-pit bitterness. On several swallows I got a distinct metallic tang as well (I had this with a tomato and avacado omelette-- breakfast for dinner). I think maybe this is past its best days, as it was almost harsh near the end.

From the bottle a lovely golden ale. Nice whiff of citrus & barley on the nose. The palate is clean & rounded, with lush barley & some zippy citrus notes. There’s a nice bitterness on the dry finish. I’d love to try on draught just to see if there’s the extra mouthfeel, but a very tasty golden ale.

Bottle, 4.5%. Refreshing hop aroma, nice and grassy. Hazy yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is nicely hoppy like the aroma. Grassy and refreshing. Good flavour, also considering the ABV.

Bottle conditioned. Light gold colour with large white head that lasted throughout. Nice Citrus (grapefruit) and malt aroma with a hint of flowers. Good balance of malt and hop in the taste with the hoppiness just winning out. Good long, dry finish. An excellent all-rounder.

Bottle. Something wrong with this one. Tastes and smells strange. Still decent though, will buy another because the place where I get from is reputable. Nicely floral and slightly bitter finish. Nice, just need to try again.
