Bottle conditioned. Available occasionally on cask as Priors Gold.
A good robust bitter. Some crystal malt gives a slight golden colour while a dry rich hoppy bitterness makes for a refreshing experience.

Bottle 500 ml from The Corbridge Larder in Corbridge (Northumberl.) Golden ale, persistent whizte foam. Perfume malty at first, the hopped keys and grapefruit which anticipates a taste everything in bitterness and in varieties of bitterness. Malted wavelet in the background and dry. No other comments.

500ml bottle purchased at The Real Ale in a Bottle Bar, GBBF. Slightly unclear, golden body with a decent, white head. Sappy fruits to the nose. Good amount of fresh passion fruits in flavour. Dry on the palate. A very fresh produce that was easy to quaff and enjoy (hotel room, Earls Court 07.08.2009).

Bottle. After popping the cap this beer begins to rise ominously up the neck, determined to escape the bottle on its own. It’s a live ale alright! Pours a hazy orange-gold requiring several pauses in the pour to allow the ginormous head to settle down. Eventually it collapses into islands of dirty white flotsam with thick heavy rings o lace. Aroma of hay, grapefruit, and faint ammonia. Flavours of reedy malts with a touch of honey sweetness, but then come the hugely bitter hops-- beyond grapefruit, and into pithy peach-pit bitterness. On several swallows I got a distinct metallic tang as well (I had this with a tomato and avacado omelette-- breakfast for dinner). I think maybe this is past its best days, as it was almost harsh near the end.
