On tap at Bierbistro. Second try at this one because I thought I must have had a bad one my first time. No better the second time so I don’t understand the high ratings. Dark amber with a thin head. Some citrus, but overall lacks aroma. Thin in the mouth. Sub-par carbonation. Just not as good as other IPA’s out there.

tap. Aroma of sweet malt. Poured medium amber with nice lacing. Medium bodied, average carbonation, tart finish. Caramel malt with some peppery spice that finishes fairly dry.

On draft at Beer Bistro. Reddish brown poor. Clear. A bit of head but not much. As expected it smells of hoops, and fresh cut grass. Mouth is very strong. It’s not that moisture sucking sour grapefruit, it’s something else I can’t place. Still not really a fan.d

I grew up in Pickering & damn me if I’d ever go back. But after this pint maybe I will hunt these guys down. Nice drinkable beer. At. C’est What on tap.

Draught at C’est What, Toronto
Amber color, with small creamy head. Nice aroma of hops, some hop resins, light yeast. Caramel flavor, semi-dry, with hop resins, strong bitterness, and a bit of dusty and earthy character, unclean. Long final.

On tap @ BeerBistro. Tawny light amber, small white head with delicate lace. Aroma is equal parts grassy and citrus hops, with toasty malts. Malt-forward palate, again quite toasty, with bitter grassy hops in moderation. Decent, but not mind blowing.

Victory Cafe, Toronto tap: Pours a copper colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus, pine, with a solid malt backbone. Taste is on the way light side of the IPA world. For a beer called Hop Addict, there really is not that much in the way of bitterness or hoppiness. Somewhat sweet and mellow. This is not a bad session, but it is hardly an exemplary IPA.

The best thing to come from Pickering since Mr Burns. After Flying Monkeys, I think this is the best IPA to be found in Ontario. The flavour packs a lot more punch than the aroma.
