On tap at C’est What? OUTSTANDING! Lots of pine and citrus grapefruit aromas. The intense hop flavor is great. This seems like a much stronger beer than the 5.45 ABV belies. Long lingering tongue drying palate.

Draught @ beerbistro: Another honest IPA from an Ontario brewer? Huzzah! Pours a great copper with a removable head. Aroma of hops, pine, and some citrus; excellent! The flavour is top notch with a burst of hops that makes way for a melange of flavours including roasted malts alongside the citrus and pine I found in the scent. Heavy on the hops, as I’d hoped, but quite well balanced with the more subtle supporting flavours. Loved it.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2007 Draught at C’est What. The tap handle for this was a syringe full of hops, so along with the name, I knew to expect big hops and that’s what I got. Really nice aromatic, light piney/citrusy hops, with a big presence. A decent amount of malt balances it out. Reminds me of a bolder, hoppier Tankhouse Ale. Mild-moderate bitterness in the finish, quite sessionable. This a really nice and supremely drinkable IPA and like other here have mentioned, it good to be finally getting these beers from Ontario brewers.

On tap at Volo in Toronto, served in an English pint. Appearance is clear copper with 5 mm of tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma begins with strong grapefruit and gradually acquires other components: caramel malts, floral and herbal notes, and some spice. Flavour begins with sweet caramel malts but gradually becomes more dry towards the finish. Finish is long, dry and hoppy. Medium body with a dry texture and average carbonation. When fresh, this brew never disappoints. Aroma is awesome, the definite highlight. Hops are prominent throughout, but they build towards the finish. Not as strong as many IPAs, but it it works very well. 2010-03-03

I tried this beer at the "Beer Bistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was a translucent reddish-gold with a thin white head. The aroma was primarily floral hops with smidgen of malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, medium carbonated, and bitter on the tongue. The flavour was grapefruity hops, some peppery hints, and a little malt.

Good stuff! Pours clear copper with nice lingering head. Spruce, citrus (esp. grapefruit) from the hops dominate the aroma. Taste is same, supplemented by some background dry caramelly maltiness. Long dry bitter finish.

Impressive yet ’simple’ beer. Bitter and aggressive throughout with a remarkable hop taste towards the end, yet drinkable and refreshing. Had at Smokeless Joe’s Patio. Very fulfilling, will have again!
