Tap @ Volo. Golden honey body, no head. Nose is very floral w. lemon, honey, some slight spiciness. Flavor is honey toasted malt, unbalanced bitterness. Kinda meh but this sample was randallized. I’d like to try again some day.

On tap.... Aroma:Small grapefruit.... Appearance:Amber,light head... Flavor:Good biterness,grapefruit...

Draught at the Beer Bistro in Toronto. LIght amber with almost no head. A slightly sweet hops aroma. Seems a bit too balanced with the hops lacking any real assertiveness and their flavor overwhelmed by the dry maltiness. As it warms some more resinous hop characteristics are noticeable. Smooth with a faint lingering bitterness.

On tap at <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/ontario/ target=blank>The Volo in Toronto. Golden amber in colour, dissipating off-white head, some lace. The aroma is quite floral, some sweet caramel malts, light lemon. The large amounts of floral hops carry over to the flavour, some light orange citrus, caramel malt balance. Bitter dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some moderate hop bitterness, floral and dry. Interesting.

Great first impression--good appearance and nose. Amazing hop aroma, but the flavor and mouth don’t live up. Thin and watery, tinny and unbalanced. Not enough malt to match the killer hops.

Aroma of refreshing earthy , medium intense bitterness with solid malt base . Appearance : dark amber ,low carbonation , creamy head on top. Medium-full bodied , raw hop character , sticky texture. Bitter but flat finish . Its hop character reminded me of raw garden greens . Average .

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2006 Draught @ Volo. Rich orange/copper body with zero head to speak of, faint citrussy hop nose. Disappointingly unbalanced -- an earthy, blunt bitterness comes through towards the end, but not nearly enough malts or other complex flavours to round it out. My pour was very thin and flat. However, it is refreshing, and kudos to a local brewer for exploring an APA (with a special reference to the hops, no less), but from my standpoint this is an inferior attempt at the style.

Note: had this at C’est What, and it was much sweeter, less hoppy and had a disturbing cheeselike smell. I will investigate and rerate next time.

Beer is ok at best, I would prob have it again, it tastes of light and watery hops, I would like to see more hops in this one

Too hopy for me, it was very well brewed, very dark, good foam and not annoying but too bitter.

draft at volo in toronto. copper hue with off white head, it has mild grapefruit aroma and hoppy flavor. not as over the top as the name would suggest, but it is quite pleasant.
