Raphael__N (158), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 9, 2008 On tap at Volo. This one took me by surprise. Besides DFH and Stone Ruination, all the others IPAs I have had to date have been very thin and unbalanced in its bitterness. This one makes a fine IPA. Very floral aromas. The taste follows a similar bouquet with plenty of hops and bread. A fantastic beer!
KyotoLefty (39), Kyoto, Japan Aug 27, 2008 Great first impression--good appearance and nose. Amazing hop aroma, but the flavor and mouth don’t live up. Thin and watery, tinny and unbalanced. Not enough malt to match the killer hops. cyrenaica (274), Milton, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 500ml draught
5.0% ABV
I tried this beer at the "Beer Bistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was a translucent reddish-gold with a thin white head. The aroma was primarily floral hops with smidgen of malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, medium carbonated, and bitter on the tongue. The flavour was grapefruity hops, some peppery hints, and a little malt.
blipp (709), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 Draft at Smokeless Joes in Toronto. Poured orange with an off white head. Sweet and hopppy aroma with orange and caramel. Flavor is like hop juice, citric and floral. Just enough malt is there to balance. Nice, very drinkable and thirst quenching. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 10, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A dry-hopped, rather potent hop lotion where hop leaves where still visible from the cask serving.
I like:
Extremely easy to drink. Pleasant citrusy notions. Highly pleasant bready malts make an excellent basis for the hops to shine on. Cracker-like chewiness- rather bright and certainly very clean also. Surprisingly high level of bitterness grow form sip to sip.
I dislike:
Rather unappealing appearance, totally headless and full of hop residues. No oiliness despite having fresh hops in the glass, it lacks any trace of fresh perfumey, floral hop aromas. Alcohol feels much higher (6.5-7%) than it really is. Sledge Jr (2713), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 24, 2008 On tap at C’est What? OUTSTANDING! Lots of pine and citrus grapefruit aromas. The intense hop flavor is great. This seems like a much stronger beer than the 5.45 ABV belies. Long lingering tongue drying palate.
