Quite a nice mellow bitter, nicely un alcoholic and could easily become quite a pleasant regular session bitter. Not going to change your world, but will certainly make it more pleasant whilst it lasts.

Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’13. Amber with white head. Good, fruity, malty, easy drinking beer, some depth, doesn’t get very bitter, but a pretty decent beer all the same.

Cask handpull at The John Duck, Durham. Hazy gold with white-ish head. Aroma is grassy hops, light spice and herb notes, slightly dirty earthiness, biscuity malt. taste is fairly bland with a bit of herbal hop character going up against a tasty enough biscuit malt profile. Touch of citrus but nothing major. Light residual bitterness. Fairly clean, but very much uninspiring. Average.

cask in bowbar ... golden amber ... thin white head ... sweet toffee fruits ... juicy nose .. soft bitter fruits ... mellow fruits ... soft oily orange .

Pale golden ale with some interesting hop varieties. Trouble is they all vie for dominance which makes the overall experience rather dry and sour and with a slight hint of burnt rubber. Beers like this need more malt, body and therefore strength.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Golden with a firm white foam. Aromas are biscuit with metal and wheat. Peanuts with low lemon. Flavours are toasted malt with yeast and peanuts. Spicy on the finish. An OK session brew.
