Bottle. Pale yellow, very pale, with brisk carbonation and a lively white head that clings tightly to the neck of my Corsendonk tulip glass. Aroma is quite grassy with additional lemony and floral notes. Hoppy, dry, crisp, and bright with tame wheaty malts (I’m not saying there is wheat in here, just saying the malts are really an afterthought). Quick finish. Another flavourful mild golden ale from across the pond.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, London on 20th January 2012. Gold with thin white head and partial lacing. Delicately citric and herb aroma. Fruity and floral with pleasant lemony and soapy notes in-mouth, and a floral, fruity aftertaste. Light body and mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle. Weak citrus aroma. Quite sour but palate is clean and not too heavy going. A bit one dimensional but not unpleasant.

500ml brown bottle. Lemony yellow pour, quite hazy. Two fingers of white head, soft clingy lacing in the glass. Citrusy nose, some lime zest and grapefruit. Taste has a wheaty dryish, crisp malt background, decent dose of flavouring hops add some spicy grass and orangey citrus notes. Dry finish with some citrus peels and grass. Light in body, soft mouthfeel, good drinkability. Had a lot of these wheaty-hoppy UK golden ales lately and I really dig them.

Bottle. Label says Bitter, Ratebeer says Blonde Ale. Who can tell??? Pours greenish straw-gold, 1.5-finger white head, rather nice lacing. Nose is fresh citrus, light pineapple, peach, and cold cream above a clean wheat/grain bed, with some earthiness and graphite. Flavours are peachy/hoppy, with tropical fruit throughout. Some rosewater and cold cream to be found here as well, with a pleasant bitterness and spicy earth notes. On the negative side, there is a vegetal/Indian food note that while very slight, does tend to run through this beer. Hmmm... I’m not sure this deserves such a low score, as it is very pleasant, but it’s not quite brilliant.

Minicask. Beautiful pale bitter, with a big fruity aroma. The America and Czech hop flavours are definitely in there, with citrus and pepperiness battling for dominance. Lovely chalky bite and very full-flavoured for a session strength beer. Was a favourite years ago and seems to be right back on form. Well carbonated and a fine tangy finish.
