COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rich red-brown colour with a sweet malt and fruit aroma. Full-bodied, roasted malt and caramel flavour, with a generous fruit-hop character and a satisfying dry finish.

April 28, 2012; Cask at Victory Cafe Intense aroma; lots of volatiles in this one. Strong flavour of orange, apricot and stone fruit, light pine. Eventually gives way to some roasty chocolates. Pours a dark mahogany with a 1 cm white head. No visible carbonation. Tastes of an interesting mix between an amber ale and a pale ale. Caramel malts are obvious with some vanilla in there. Taste moves towards citrusy and piney hops. Overall, the hops are fairly clean and not overwhelming. Tasty! Light body, almost watery. Little to no carbonation, which isn’t too unusual for cask. Light herbal hop finish. Environment was great and this was a tasty compliment. Liked the mix of flavours, which was a surprise. Interesting brew.

I tried this beer on tap on March 9, 2012 at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It pours a translucent dark red with a whitish ring for a head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, light fruits, and weak hops. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is mily sweet with caramel and light fruit and a weak bitter finish ends it.

Bar Volo cask. A little sour, great aroma, but its butterscotch. A little red colour.

Deep ruddy amber pour with almost no head at all. Soft iced tea aroma and a little bit of sweet caramel malt. Toasty malt and a little bit of very leafy hop flavour. A bit sweet but it’s a decent enough cask. A touch of chewy bitterness. It’s okay but it’s not great. The cask does work for this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask at Volo. Pours a cloudy reddish copper with moderate-sized creamy off-white head. Aroma is lots of caramel malt with a more understated fruitiness. Flavour is also lots of caramel with sweet fruit and a modest hoppiness. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Nice.

Cask at Cest what. Reddy brown colour, smallish off white head. Nice sweet malty aroma and taste, little sugary fruit. A little bit thin in body. Very drinkable!

Draught @ Bar Volo: Apparently the last of it on tap, my friend who had just beat me to it was kind enough to split it halves and I’m forever grateful. Pours hazy and dark copper, average white head. The aroma is heavy in floral hops, some sweetness breaking through. Flavour is roasted coffee beans, chocolate, and nice floral hop bitterness. What is this? Tastes almost like a light coffee porter with a great mouthfeel. I actually quite enjoyed this.

Cask at Ceili COttage. Looks great - fiery red, creamy head. Malty aroma, nutty, fruity. Taste is a malt bomb! So much malt! Caramel sweet, fruity, and quite hoppy as well. Dare I say it was almost too malty for me. Otherwise, solid cask ale, served in tip top condition.

Cask at Ceil;i Cottage. Fantastic dry session with a good crisp malt flavor, featuring roast java fruit and light caramel, and light hop bitterness in the aroma and taste. Aroma also has light fruit and hops.
