Traditional English character with massive complex malt and earthy fuggles hops. An aroma of toffee malt is confirmed by a body of woody orange marmalade and caramel. Made for the Royal Wedding of William and Kate 29th April 2011.

Bottle split @ CBC Clerkenwell. Cheers to Leighton for holding onto this one. The pour’s amber with a small head. Somewhat musty, woody on the nose. Baked bread, nuts. A bit of bear claw donut. Sweet orchard fruit flavors. Tangy cherry and pear. Rich caramel malt. Full, but not overly sweet or hot. Overall, better than I was afraid this commemorative beer might be. Respectable stuff from Durham.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. I got this one way back when, maybe from Kris Wines. Pours light hazy amber with a creamy cap. Some sweet bread on the nose, pine, dried fruits. Medium sweet flavor, moderately boozy with dry bread, toffee, some dirt. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with semi-dark bread, caramel, low toasted pine bitterness. Really nice stuff.
