3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle split @ CBC Clerkenwell. Cheers to Leighton for holding onto this one. The pour’s amber with a small head. Somewhat musty, woody on the nose. Baked bread, nuts. A bit of bear claw donut. Sweet orchard fruit flavors. Tangy cherry and pear. Rich caramel malt. Full, but not overly sweet or hot. Overall, better than I was afraid this commemorative beer might be. Respectable stuff from Durham.

Medium sweet flavor, moderately boozy with dry bread, toffee, some dirt. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with semi-dark bread, caramel, low toasted pine bitterness. Really nice stuff.
