5ooml b/c. Murky orange and quite talkative from lenghty bottle conditioning (held on to this one for a while). A whiff of light perfume, some warm alcohol and almost essence. Rich fullness, a touch of orangey resin with hot hops and light malt flavours lurking in the distance. Nice enough but doesn’t linger long enough of leave you with that syrupy resinous coating that you think you are in for.

(Gravity as Durham Magnificat) Amber with no head. Citrus hop scent. Well balanced. Quite dry. Oranges in the mouth and some sugars on the end but not as sweet as the ABV suggests. Slight kick at the end but easy drinking.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle from the Cheese & Wine Shop Darlington. Poured a clear golden orange amber colour, frothy fine white head and aroma of spicy citrus. Taste is malt caramel with pine and a citrusy note, through to a slightly woody light dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Quite drinkable IPA.

Bottle from the shop on Holy Island, served cool. Orange with a fluffy white head. Burnt Sugar aroma. Orange marmalade and marzipan in the flavour, with some zesty floral hops. Definitely an English version of an IPA. Nice alcohol kick. I’ve yet to be disappointed by this brewery.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (500ml). Poured cloudy copper with orange highlights and a good sized frothy white head which was mostly lasting. A sweet tropical hop aroma with strong notes of apricots, pineapple, passionfruit, rich caramel malts and some light piney/floral notes. Flavor was of smooth caramel malts with a mild earthy hop bitterness, guava, pineapple and dry peaches towards the finish. Well hidden alcohol content. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel and a good length finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice malty aroma. This is Durham’s interpretation of an IPA but there are lots of Northern English malts about it. It seems to me like a very strong and tasty bitter, it’s very nice. On cask I reckon I could knoeck back plenty of these.Malty & nicely bitter. Good Stuff.
