Bottle at WilliamK, Helsinki. Pours hazy bronze with medium-sized dense head. Aroma has floral hoppiness with fresh fruity elements and some maltiness in the background. Taste is bitter and especially in the finish dry. Taste is quite typical for a British IPAs, hop presence isn’t as strong as in American IPAs. Fruity flavours dominate. Palate is medium bodied and slick, very drinkable. This is indeed a British interpretation of IPA, not as robust - or rich - as American ones but more balanced and easier to drink.

This was the first beer this excellent brewery bottled. A bit dissapointing as it was cloudy. This is something I dont mind in a wheat beer but dont feel too comfortable with it in a pale ale.Pleasant hoppiness with some citrus seeping through but the cloudiness still put me of.

Bottle. Dark hazy amber. Lasting white head and a bit of lace. Thick body. Flavour is herbal, floral and earthy at the same time. A nicer English style IPA than usual.

500ml brown bottle. Golden pour, hazy. Thin white cap despite a vigourous pour. Malty nose, caramel sweetness with only a faint suggestion of citrus. Taste has a marmalade-y mix of orange and lemon citrus hops over a light caramel malt base. Soft bitterness in the finish featuring orange peels and grass. Has nice English malt aftertaste. Light bodied, good natural feeling carbonation. Pretty soft and subtle for an IPA, but the site classes this as an English Strong which I guess suits the beer a bit more. Malts are nice though, hops are in the right places, but not forceful enough to hold my interest. It’s subtlety might be it’s strength depending on who you are.

Rune (6368) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 17, 2009
From the Real Ale in a Bottle Bar at GBBF 09. Medium sized, white head over a plain golden body. Sweet malty aroma added by dark spices. The flavour can be described as an interplay of succulent fruits and caramel malts. Some mild honey hints behind it all. On the sweet side of bittersweet to the ending. Medium bodied and with a fine drinkability (Earls Court, hotel room, 07.08.2009).

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Amber with a thin white head; rather muted, gentle aroma, piney, citrus, and spicy; full bodied and hoppy from the start, quite spritzy in the mouth, with a rough, woody flavour; and a rather nettley finish.
