Bottle 500ml. Masterpiece, full marks. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit, rum, vanilla. Taste starts sweet, with bitterness taking over for a very long finish. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with an off-white head.

Formidable. Dark sweet stout with some toasty, hoppy overtones. Goes very well with a rich dessert as an after-dinner drink!

This stuff looks like crude oil, black, inky, more than opaque it sits in the glass like a liquid black hole. The huge body it a riot of sweet malt flavours, caramel, toffee, chocolate all playing against a noticeable coffee note and the spiciness of the hops. Perfection.

bottle 500 ml souvenir from GBBF 2009 shared with JanneK after heavy Ola Dubh session as final night gap. Jet black beige head. Taste sweet dark roasted malts.Full body honest imperial stout without playing with fashionable whisky. Decent chocolate bit coffee dash of licorice. Modest hops are balance with heavy body. More please

Black with a thin oily head. Smells of molasses, smoke, and prunes. Deeply swet, plenty of brown sugar and molasses, some bitter chocolate and coffee. Rich and nicely viscous.

Had this at the DC/MD/VA/WV/PA gathering. Bottle courtesy of chris_o. Black body with a small brown head. Nose is strong alcohol, dark chocolate, rum soaked fruit, cocoa, and light coffee. The fruit seems to smell almost like melon to me. Taste is alcohol, mocha, more rum soaked fruit, light coffee, molasses, and light licorice. Body is thick and chewy with a pleasant alcohol warming to it. Finishes with more alcohol dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. WOW!!

Pitch black with almost no head. The aroma makes my taste buds flutter in anticipation, its powerful with notes of port wine, raisin, plum and licorice. The flavour does not disappoint my almost dribbling taste buds - oral orgasm is an expression, that comes to mind. The moutfeel is oily and it has notes of roasted malt, raisins that have soaked in port wine, plum and in the finish there is chocolate and a hint of licorice. The aftertaste is loooong and its a really, really nice beer!

Cockney Pub, Aarhus, DK. Bottled. Aroma of banana and yeasty fruits. Balanced sweetness to the complex chocolate and toffeefudge flavor. Bitterness great. Though quite alcoholic

Bottle from teh Whistle Stop in Saltburn. Pours pitch black with a rapidly diminishing tan head. Delicous sweet chocolate flavour before a bitter licorice finish. Just a touch too carbonated, but otherwise an extremely good beer.
