Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Golden, no head. I normally like Durham beers, but this was a little sub par for me. Golden, no head. Hoppy beer, odd violet flavour in the mouth. Ugh. Didn’t much like it.

[Cask at Horseshore Hotel, Egton Bridge, N Yorks] Pale, slightly cloudy gold with a moderate white head. Lemony with some grass. Smooth & pleasant enough to drink, but rather bland and forgettable.

Cask at Fanny’s Ale and Cider House, Shipley/Saltaire 04-05-07. Very, very pale golden colour, with a huge Yorkshire head that was topped up straight away. Decent hoppy bitter beer that I tried alongside the Outlaw Mayflower (Roosters brewery) both good breweries. This one just nicked it for me it was in very good nick and had good citrus flavours and nice bitterness, not as good as some of theirs but still a very good effort.

Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Pale gold colour. Light citrus aroma. Quite soft palate with gentle citrus, subtle fruit and just a touch of dry malt. Clean rather than crisp. Decent balance but, perhaps lacks a bit of depth. Not one of Durham’s stand-out beers but a pleasant, easy-drinking brew.

Cask (handpump) at the Flowerpot, Derby. The pumpclip changes but the style remaisn the same - another well hopped, citric twisting Durham beer.Slightly dry finish.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Reading BF. A golden coloured beer. The aroma has citrus hop and is quite nice save for a slightly farty late note. The taste is typical Durham. Hoppy with a little late sweetness. Not bad.
