The hoppiest of all our beers. Lots of aroma with strong grapefruit flavours.

A Mes rate: gravicask at Peterborough Beer Festival.
Bright yellow gold with a thin white rim and wery good condition. Pleasant straw and hay aroma with some good citric notes. Very grassy in the mouth with a lovely malt base. Excellent citric bitterness in the finish. Gloriously dry and pleasing mouthfeel. Being used to their high abv brews, this is something new to me; a sessionable and very drinkable beer from Durham. Lovely.

Tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in April 2006. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin creamy white head. Strong lingering aroma of dusty hops in this. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a slight digestive biscuit note with really tart grapefruit peel and lemon drop notes. Any sweetness is soon lost amid a big whack of drying hop resins sucking all the moisture out of your mouth like a wet vac. Finish is dry, astringent and very bitter with dry hop flowers evident. Not my favourite from the portfolio but if you like moisture sucking bitters then this is for you.

Cask@Criterion, Leicester. Golden beer with a dry and floral aroma. The flavour is bitter and quite dry. Overall a quite plain dry and bitter beer.

Cask, The Flowerpot, Derby. Amber gold with a small head. Aromas are Autumn fruit with bitter, earthy hops. Quite prickly. Flavours are dry bitter hops. Lightly fruity with lemon and bitter grapefruit on the finish. Easy drinking clean beer.
