Cask. At Volo. Cloudy/murky yellow-gold pour with a solid lasting white head. Dry aroma, sweet and yeasty, but not much fruit character - mostly stale butterscotch. The taste, much better, more like a wit - mild sweet caramel malt, bitter spice mostly on-style, and yes, that "Durham" yeast taste. Soft, chewy body, with a quick finish - just decent, not all that memorable.

Jul 20, 2008 Cask, on tap at Volo. Hazy yellow pour, lacy head. Very citrus smell. Easy drinking. Slight orange flavour. Kind of plain, had better wits, though still nice on a spring day.

Jun 27, 2008 On tap at Volo. A big surprise of a beer. I personally enjoyed this one very much. Aroma was very sweet with bananas and cloves on the nose. Flavour was similar with sweet spices; cardamom, cumin, cloves. This drank like Denison’s Weissbier with a twist. Great job on this one Durham!

Jun 9, 2008 I’m the make-or-break score today huh? Oh well. here’s the scoop - draught at Volo. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with slight head and fine carbonation. Light aroma of yeast and citrus. Tastes slightly of apple and pear, is round, sweet, fruity On the light and refreshing side. I do like that it is not copycat. Not excellent and not bad either. * NB * the nearby smell of baking cheese was distracting for everything I drank on the Patio, LOL!

Jun 1, 2008 Pale straw, someone cloudy. A bit funky and yeasty (to a fault, locker room scents pop up), but lots of sweet malts in the flavour which is atypical. A bit creamy in the finish, almost like mozzarella cheese. This just isn’t right.

May 26, 2008 On tap at C’est What. Cloudy yellow with moderate white head. Lacey. Some yeast puffs up the mouthfeel. A bit sour yet quite drinkable.
