COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our first beer brewed and released to the market. The IPA style was developed by the British to enable beer to survive a long voyage by ship from Britain to the colonies in India to supply the troops during the late 1700s and early 1800s. Beer usually spoiled on the trip, so a higher alcohol content and additional hops were used as natural preservatives. Our version is the American style, using a higher hopping rate than the British style, and American hops that produce citrusy and herbal/floral aromas. Moderate bitterness.

Lacy off-white head. Crstal deep rust-colored body with fine carbonation bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. VERY light hop aroma on the citrusy side. Somewhat peachy hoppy flavor. Light body. Bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from beerboxer. Beer is light amber in color with a white head. Had hoppy aroma. Beer is malty with just a slight hop taste.

A - pours nice orange amber with high head that disapates quick. S - caramel malt aromas up front. In fact only malts. Grains and hint a dried dark fruits. M - lighter bodied full of malts palate. T - malts and dried fruits throughout. Pine and bitter grasses toward the end. O - far to malty to be hops of wrath. 5+

Nicely floral with good bitter hops. I am working on my beer palate. This was an enjoyable beer.

Shared bomber at a recent group tasting. Poured to a sampler with an orange/amber hue, modest, off white/cream head foam, and wavey cling to the light lacing. The aroma was some citrus and mid-fruit, but more caramel and malt sweetness. The flavor was similar, adding low but lingering hop bitterness, some syrupy texture, and a little soapiness. Intimidating name, but not necessarily the beer.

750ml bottle poured into snifter. Good solid hoppy aroma with hints of slight citrus. Flavor however is a little unbalanced. Too much malt which made it a little too sweet for this style.

Draft, at Dust Bowl Brewing Company. Pours a bright, clear golden/orange color; fine-bubbled white head. Vibrant, zesty, citrusy and orange-laden hop araoma. Medium body; lively CO2; juicy oranges and citrus (five hops and Cascade dry-hopping, evidently); dry, lightly fruity core (just light crystal malt); nicely dry, toasty finish. When fresh, a perfect example of a West Coast IPA.

On tap at Galleto’s. Poured golden color with half inch head. Flavor was mostly citrusy hops. Nothing overpowering. Well balanced enjoyable beer.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. The aroma on this is pretty subdued in terms of hops. There’s a little bit of an earthy and herbal character present along with some tannins. Not much going on. Beautifully transparent copper-orange body with a large, creamy and foamy off-yellow head. Strong, long-lasting, and nice lacing. Starts with a little sugary sweetness, before this becomes a little metallic and herbal with hop flavors. Some husky, chewy malt tannins come through in the middle, before this finishes with a bit of an astringent, herbal bitterness. This is not really the type of IPA that I like. I dislike the grain bill and the hop profile on this.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Poured into a shaker glass. Aroma is of tropical and fruity. Flavor was also mildly bitter. Poured clear, and palate is thin and watery. As others have said, not anything special but not horrible.
