COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The lager category encompasses many beers that use lager yeast, which ferments at the bottom of a vessel and can withstand cold temperatures, while ales are traditionally top fermenters and will not ferment cold. Lagers are cold conditioned to smooth out flavors. Ours is based on a Munich Helles style developed in Germany as a light colored lager with a balanced malt and hop profile. Low hop bitterness. Grainy pilsner malt aroma.

On tap at Tap 25. It pours clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is grainy, fresh bready pilsner malt with a touch of sweet apple skin. The flavor is nicely dry with a very spicy, minty hop bitterness. Grainy malt backbone. Solid bitter finish. I know it’s not characteristic of the Helles style, but I would have liked to see a bit more aroma hops here to match the bitterness. Still very tasty.

Draft, at Dust Bowl Brewing Company. Pours a bright, clear golden color; fine-bubbled head with solid retention and lacing. Nice rounded Pils maltiness in the nose; crisp, lightly zesty. Perfect mouthfeel: crisp, clean, with lively carbonation; hugely rounded Pils malt character with just enough mineral bitterness to frame it; a textbook, vibrant Helles. Delicious.

Draft. Golden beer with a whitish head. Fruity and light mineral aroma. Light mineral and grain flavor. Medium bodied. Grain and mineral notes linger.
