At over 100 IBUs, Therapist is surprisingly easy to drink. Big, bold hop aromas and flavors of citrus, tropical fruits and pine are bracketed by light malty sweetness that does not overpower. A healthy addition of wheat in the grain bill adds to the body and mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by Bytemesis! Strong fruity nose with lots of lemon and citrus. a dry pithy bitterness with not much malt presence. This is definitely for the hop focused, no malt, no messing around DIPA lover. enjoyable.

Bottle, picked up at Wine Club on Nolenís recommendation, and shared at the Homer "welcome to California" tasting. Pours crystal clear orange with a medium creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates leaving nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite dank, lots of grapefruit, pine, wet leaves, a bit of a pot note. Flavor has little sweetness, quite dry and light plus bitter, fruity, citrus and dankness. Medium body. Nice beer coming just short of world class.

On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Pours a clear yellow amber color. Easy going hop flavors though noticeable sharp alcohol flavors.

Bold hops out of the bottle with even bolder, sweet warm malt taste by the time I drank it from the glass. Medium body, medium bitter, medium gold, medium off-white head and mediocre taste. Grapefruit, caramel and bread malty sweet is my experience. Even ice cold this was a little more cloying than I want from an Imperial. One nice aspect is the very short afterward with this beer and just minutes after my last swallow, there is no bitter or lingering sensation. I will not revisit this particular brew.

A nice representation of the DIPA. Big malt hop and tropical notes. Could be a bit thicker.

Iíve had this beer on tap locally here in Sacramento, and I regularly get it in bottles. Itís a heavy Imperial IPA with a solid citrusy flavor, which is a tribute to the vast array of citrus grown in the region. Itís got low carbonation, so thereís no bite, and despite clocking in at 11% ABV itís not boozy at all. It pours clear, and is almost amber in color. Itís smooth but mouthfeel is almost light for such a powerhouse of flavor. Very complex notes throughout, from start to finish. And when youíre done, youíll realize you just got back-doored by The Rapist.

Clear golden color... Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit hops... Flavor is fairly balanced for a double, nice sweetness upfront, tropical fruits, gives way to lasting piney bitterness... Great beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This brew has a very citrusy and verynheavy malt aromas. This almost clear reddish amber beer has white head and tiny bubbles rising. The sweetness overpowers most bitterness til the aftertaste. The bitterness comes thru a little bit. Do not taste anywhere 100IBUs. Its not a bad brew... As for an imperial IPA it is missing a bit of bitterness. They did do a good job masking the alcohol.
