3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Onslow (711) - Kalamazoo, USA - MAY 17, 2011
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Typical pale lager in appearance - clear pale yellow with a finger or two of whit ehead. Aroma dominated by grassy hops with overtones of sour cider, some faint corny grains. Taste is dominated by grassy hops at the start with a grassy / bitter hops finish at the end. Somewhat out of balance and needing a bit of malt at the start. Average palate. Not bad and more distinctive than many pale lagers, especially with the respectable hops finish.

Yellow pour white head. Corn, skunk, grain, and skunk. Man this is pretty darn bad!

Tried a sample at Brewfest Tallahassee. The green bottle killed it for me. Some malt flavor, but mostly skunk all over the place.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 stephenj007 (79) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 26, 2009
Bottle pour, with a small, white foam head, which laced the side of the glass for a few minutes. A clear, to light looking pee color, slightly skunky aroma. No overly or lasting signifigant flavors or aromas noted. Carbonation was higher than most lagers. Nothing really special here, just a beer on sale at the market. Tastes good enough for a cheap summer bbq evening.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 marcus (4054) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 5, 2009
This clear yellow beer poured with a generous white head and a skunky cheap lager aroma. There is a pale malt flavor with a hint of hop bitterness. That’s about it.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 bhensonb (7583) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 30, 2009
Bottle from a Grocery Outlet store. Typical pale lager pour - gold with frothy white head. Nice aromas of pale malt and grassy hop. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. It’s a bit bready, not too sweet, and in the finish there’s a fair amount of bitter on the rear edges of the tongue. More drinkable than many. Much more. I am sensitive to skunk; didn’t detect any.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 lb4lb (2026) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 4, 2009
Pours a light, clear golden color with a very short lived white head. Smell is a mixture of corn like sweetness, skunkiness and the crystal pure artesian water it’s brewed with... Taste is rather sweet for a pale lager and has a touch of bitterness that doesn’t do enough to balance. The cheap sweetness lingers well into the aftertaste. Thin body and normal carbonation. Not a great pale lager, unfortunately.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 KAggie97 (3285) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - FEB 14, 2009
Bottle. As soon as the bottle cap was removed, a gale force of skunk-lager wind rushed into my nose and shot straight up into my brain. It just did. The Rugen Brau dimpled mug held this deeper-than-I-thought yellow beer that was bubbling with excitement. A quick-rising and even quicker fading head of white sat briefly atop the beer. Corn skunk flavoring and malty grain sat flatly on my tongue. Prickly mouthfeel. Probably good at a party but not for a nice evening of qualtiy brew quaffing.
