Taster on tap at Party Town. Pale yellow color. Thin off-white head. Good retention. Leaves good lace. Bready aroma, and lemon-citrus. Nice amount of citrusy hop. Great yeast character. Smooth, light, creamy carbonation. Light to medium body. More dry finish. Lightly tart taste, mild to moderate bitter. Excellent, super well done belgian ale.

7/20/2013: Duvel Single - Really light and bubbly, but surprisingly packed with Belgiany spice and flavor. The uber-light golden yellow color and large white head seems typical for the style. The aroma has a bit of fruitiness, cinammon, and wheat. The flavor is well-balanced and fairly complex for such a small beer with notes of fruity esters, floral perfume, candi sugar, biscuity malt, spice, and lemon/citrus peel. Very, very good. Way too easy to consume a large amount of this beer. The tastebuds would love that, but the wallet would not!

Draught (sample) at Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #263 for this beer.

7/24/13. On tap at Aardwolf. Most places around town are calling this "Duvel Single," so I think this is the right listing. Mostly clear golden pour, reminds of clear pee in a way, with a frothy off-white head that fades but laces really well. Mild esters, some banana, on the aroma, with touches of cream and candy sugar. Lighter flavor, mild pale doughy malts, some banana esters, cream, and candy sugar. Slightly less sweet and more laid back than standard Duvel. Tasty enough.

At the Red Lion. Mildly sweet pale yellow beer. Big ale fruitiness and a smooth mouth feel. Nice. Serving: Tap

On tap, served a bit too cold. Nice appearance. Creamy malt, Belgian spices, more watery than expected. Finishes with a kiss of booze at the end. Far inferior to the bottled version.
