Editor’s Note: This is NOT the draught Duvel (aka Duvel Green). Duvel Groen is only bottled, never draught, and generally only available in Belgium, not the US or UK.

In bottle at t’Waagstuk. Pours a very pale blonde colour with a medium white head. Aroma of biscuity malt, oatmeal, alcohol, candy sugar and caramel. Alcohol is prominent with flavours of light barley, grassy hops and yeast. A very dry finish doesn’t do it for me. I prefer the regular version.

Bottle. Crisp, golden colour with medium head. Aroma of malts and citrus. Dry citrus flavour accompanied by some malts. Nothing extraordinary here.

Musty pear nose. Fairly clear golden, medium head. Dry pear flavor, a little hot. Light lemon zest finish. Not very imaginative.

It is surprisingly similar to the big brother duvel.. the lighter and fresher variant of the typtical duvel beer. In all aspects however it is lighter: color, taste, alcohol. I’m not so good at defining flavours, but reading other’s accounts, I agree mostly to ’grass’ and ’white bread’ flavours. This is a very nice easy to drink beer... it can be great if you are looking for a low-alcohol beer that has a nice and special flavour.

Bottle. Really simillar to the original Duvel. A little less alchol and a little more drinkable. Really like the saison-like nose. Sweet, spicy and yeasty! Taste is quite crisp. Highly drinkable. Maybe a little too thin.
