I have some questions over wither or not this beer had gone off, it didnt seem like it was ment to taste this way in my opinion, therfore it get a reasonably rubbish rating. Aroma is yeasty metalic ham. Taste is yeast goign to aluminim filings with alcohol, this isnt actually as bad as it may sound, however a 5 may be generous. I was really looking forward to this, because you cannot get it in britian even online, and i have to drink duvel to keep me off chimay blue and rochefort these days, because of the lack of good beers in this country, belgiun bottled-wise anyway, and i have a soft spot of duvel because of this. Browney points for cool bottle.

Sweet and spicy with long, sharp citrus tones in the aroma. Lightly hazy golden yellow body with plenty of bubbles is topped with a large, meringue-like, rocky, fizzy, fine-bubbled, white head that lasts well and coats the glass. Lightly citrus and sweet to start followed by long, rough bitterness and plenty of alcohol. Medium body is very dry and attenuated with plenty of alcohol warming. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temp. Bottle (Ølbutikken, Aug-05).

15 Jun 2005 - (Schruers terrace, Margraten) - Fruity pear malt aroma. Clear dark yellow golden colour, white head and good lacing, but too clean an uninterseting. Spiritous flavour, with a lack of fruit compared too its brother Duvel, it seems to lack some substance. Long lingering taste and full bodied, but lacks some complexity of the normal Duvel. One of the best clear beers I’ve had.

Clear light gold with a large white head. Mild spicy aroma. Sweetish start with a long spicy finish. Subdued esters. Quite refreshing.

Yeasty nose, with some hoppyness and sweetness. Light hazy pale yellow beer, big frothy white head. Sweet flavor, some spices, soapy, alcohol is very pronounced.
