2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tderoeck (1179) - BELGIUM - JUL 2, 2011
25/06/2011 25cl bottle @ Trollekelder (Gent) - BB: not indicated (2011-280)
Clear blond beer, very creamy solid head, adhesive. Aroma: citrus, stale (like spilled beer the day after, but also a bit like young beer straight from the tank), bit metallic. MF: lots of carbon, light to medium body, bit watery texture. Taste: citrus, pretty bitter, grassy, pine wood, bit fruity (peaches), very sour notes as well. Aftertaste: more sour citrus, bitter ending though not dry. What the F were they thinking when they put this on the market?

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 4, 2011 Golden body that’s much clearer than the regular Duvel. Still a big head. Aroma is more grassy and herbs plus banana and white bread. Tat bit too soft. Still a nice full bitter taste but, again, more fresh almost citrusy and with less spices. I realise I’m only compaing it to it’s well know big brother while this is a great brew on its own. Fatty mouthfeel. Very good, although - sorry - not as rich as the regular all-time favourite. (25cl bottle)
