Bottle @ Mondial 2008. Aroma is malt, yeast, wheat? and a hint of citrus, light amber, a much smaller white head than it’s big brother. Flavour is malt, with strong alcohol. Full bodied, has a harshness not found in the big bro. This has been on my wish list for a long time, it was great to finally try it.

Bottle from Bières cultes. Clear pale gold pour with white head. Aroma of fresh cut hay, belgian yeast, spruce, white pepper, maybe a hint of something wheaty. Taste is quite hoppy and peppery, alcohol is not perceptible (my bottle said 7%, not 7.5%). Palate is light with strong carbonation (but a little milder than regular Duvel). Tasty.

25cl bottle. Yellow, nice head like the normal Duvel. Refreshing nose, citrus, herbs. Sweet, and dry (hop) taste. Some bitterness. Some carbonation, maybe a bit less than the normal Duvel.

Pours a bright, light yellow with a fluffy white heads that’s lasts quite long. Nice lacing. Some sweet malt, pepper, spice, grain. Peppery taste, with some malt sweetness and hop dryness follows up. Light/medium body with finely constructed carbonation. Overall pretty good but I prefer regular Duval.

25cl bottle, sadly Duvel is only a shadow of its former self.
