joppenl (1), Netherlands does not count Feb 9, 2008 Nice yeasty, fresh taste. pretty dry. Cant define herbs. One of my favourites on a late summer evening. dhurtubise (569), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Jul 3, 2003 The filtered classic beer, carbonated artificially, so it is clear, light golden with a fine white head. Big clean beer with excellent bitterness and blance with a density of esters that is extremely pleasant. Good head retention but not a rocky head. Will not evolve in the bottle like it's bottled conditionned twin. Bov (4744), Bienne, Switzerland Jan 29, 2002 Updated: Apr 13, 2006at last, about 15 years later, I’ve been able to put my hands on this beer, the filtered version of the world classic Duvel - slightly hazy golden colour under a stable little foam and a nice lace; solid grapefruity and bready nose; oily with a robust malt body and a sharp bitterness; some astringence; long bitter fruity and yeasty aftertaste - nice stuff indeed mtoast (287), Carnegie, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 13, 2007 25cL bottle, consumed on 9/15/06 at Gambrinus in Brugges. Pours a very clear light gold with signature Duvel head, retention and lacing are nowhere near as classic as the original. Aroma on the other hand is very enjoyable, dry crisp and slightly spicy, very hop forward. Flavor is very dry, just a hint of pils malt and some yeast notes, lots of grassy and earthy hoppiness. Radek Kliber (3403), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 6, 2002 Hard to find this one. I had pleasure to rate this beer as no 500. Josh O. shared with us during Iron Liver VI. Nice head, thick with small bubbles. Very nice fruity aroma that was really friendly for my nose. Ahh, good! Nice feel, light cream, yeast, end decently bitter.
