Gift from Bartzilla for the Holidays. Shared with Cyn, dalekliz and bikesandbeer. Pours gold with a an extremely bubbly with lots of bubbles coming up the center. Bright white head also. Nose is sweet light and fresh. Taste is yeasty with a hint of bitterness and overall a bit herbal in a way. Gotta say this is interesting maybe I’ve just been interested in it for a while, but its better than a 64 percentile in my opinion.

Pressão. Doce e levemente amarga. Dourada translúcida, com excelente creme, denso e persistente. Drinkable.

A lower version of the Red one. A little less alcohol and also some little differences in the taste makes rhis beer still a good beer. Problem is most of the time the pub has also the red one and i will try that one

Golden with a fairly good white head. I thought this was a real good drink all day beer. Not complex, does exactly as I expected and tastes nice. I can get this often and I think I will do. Cheap too. Like Duvel light. Light beer is the devils spunk but when you’re talking an 8.5 negotiated down to a 7.5, it’s not bad at all. A lot of my rates say not my kind of drink, this is the kind of beer I would buy regularly in the absence of something ’special’.

Bottle from Bières cultes. Clear pale gold pour with white head. Aroma of fresh cut hay, belgian yeast, spruce, white pepper, maybe a hint of something wheaty. Taste is quite hoppy and peppery, alcohol is not perceptible (my bottle said 7%, not 7.5%). Palate is light with strong carbonation (but a little milder than regular Duvel). Tasty.

25 cl bottle from Cracked Kettle. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Similar to the regular Duvel, grassy, gooseberries, red currand and slightly tart.

Bottle from Bartzilla, who brought this back on his recent trip of debauchery in Belgium. Thanks for sharing this rare treat. From what I understand, this is a lighter, sessionable Duvel. It was definitely an easy drinker. Light, hoppy with lots of that typical delicious Belgian yeast going on. Pretty good. Surprised at the low scores.

Clear gold beer with a small head. The aroma shows yeast and tons of coriander. The flavour shows more compolexity than the aroma. It contains some grape-flavour with a good balanced, moderated carbonation, a little citrus and a big amount of hop. The aftertaste is dry and hoppy.

Bottle Large fizzy egg-white head that mostly lasted. Thick and amazing lacework that lay on-top for a long time. Clear sparkling body with a yellow colour. Aroma of yeast, citrus, spice, caramel, fruit and hint of hops. Very complex aroma. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light dry alcoholic texture. Light sweet flavour with hint of citrus and hops. Somewhat spicy sweet finish. 25-05-2007

Bottle. Really simillar to the original Duvel. A little less alchol and a little more drinkable. Really like the saison-like nose. Sweet, spicy and yeasty! Taste is quite crisp. Highly drinkable. Maybe a little too thin.
